Enjoyed our stay
Not a thing to complain about. Great location, staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the cave was awesome. Room was small but had everything we needed. Bathroom was spotless. Highly recommend.

Not so good
We knew it was on the more affordable side of things but the condition of the room and general vibe of the place was worse than expected. The decor was very dated and not at all cosy. The floor in our room was an old tile and the walls had stains from previous damp. There was a constant sound of pipes/drains coming from the walls which kept me up. Also the double bed is just two singles put together, which means the middle is rather uncomfortable and feels like you’re lying on the frame. The wall behind the bed also had a silly metal ornament all over it which made sitting in the bed awkward. There’s little in the way of tea/coffee/milk etc and you don’t even get actual mugs, just disposable cups. There’s not much soundproofing either as I was woken every morning by the neighbours in the room opposite making bizarre sounds and coughing up their guts. On the plus side, the sheets and towels were clean and the shower was good. The lift was very rickety and the general feeling once you’re on the upper floors is that it’s a bit dilapidated and kinda claustrophobic. If you’re looking for an affordable but nice stay in a hotel I’d look elsewhere as it felt more like a very cheap private hostel than a hotel. It’s not somewhere you’d want to be aside from when you’re sleeping, and even that I found a bit of a struggle with the noise.

Excelente
Quarto pequeno mas muito confortável. Fomos em um final de semana de janeiro super frio porém o quarto é super quentinho e fomos recebidas com uma garrafa de vinho de cortesia. O chuveiro é excelente, a cama era enorme e o café da manhã tinha uma variedade de doces e salgados. Foi uma ótima experiência no hotel.

Stay far far away
There is a downright abusive man working at the front desk. He screamed at me this morning, and I mean screamed. For a variety of offenses he deemed me ‘guilty’ of. Then threatened to call the police on me when I refused to be alone with him at the front desk. Refused to tell me the balance we owed (apparently it was $16) but also wouldn’t let me leave. He is absolutely unhinged and deserves to be fired. I’m also not the first guest he’s done this. There are two others in the past three months alone.
