Initially, travelling to France was a suddenly planned trip so I made a reservation with this hotel without a cancellable option, given Hotels.com no longer offered me a cancellable option.
However, with the spread of Coronavirus and subsequent sudden lockdown of France, I had to cancel my trip to France just the night before my initial intention to stay at this hotel. I contacted the hotel reception for many times, with the intention to request for an exception to cancel my stay, ask for a refund or at least a flexible option to change my schedule of stay, but obviously there were no staff on duty to receive and reply to phone calls or emails.
After I was back to my country, I had to contact Hotels.com to reach the hotel on behalf of me. I wasted a lot of time chasing Hotels.com to urge the hotel for reply. Ultimately, the hotel refused to provide any refund. I understand the spread of Coronavirus was unpredictable, but the hotel was very slow and inflexible to changes and customers' special needs.
For my other booked hotels in France, not only the hotel reception replied very quickly to our inquires in emails, but also granted us an exception to receive a full refund for our stay, given that we also booked that hotel with a non-cancellable option.
I have never been to France but I am definitely sure that, for my next visit, I will not choose to stay, or recommend this hotel to my family and friends!
