Not great not worth the money
Unfortunately the hotel do not meet our expectations. The views are beautiful and location is great. Nice breakfast and spa facilities. Although the spa is quite small. However the room was very average for this price. Yes it has lovely views but ruined with dirty window. There were stains on the carpet and on the wall the table was looking very tried. It didn't feel like a 4 star hotel and was not worth the money which we paid.I don't think we will be back.

Pleasant Stay
Nice Hotel in a good location. Tidy and nice double room with a great view. Quiet location but close to town centre. Staff in reception and restaurant very friendly and helpful. Enjoyable breakfast and dinner. Only grumble is the bar staff had to be called at reception by guests during the evening.

Very poor
Very poor hotel, stayed here many times but has gone down hill considerably. Bathroom smelt terrible and toilet clearly hadn’t been cleaned. Overall very run down hotel that is a shadow of its former self and certainly not a 4 star hotel.

Disappointing stay
Hotel showing it's age. General maintenance needs attention. Our room door didn't close on it's own and cleaners failed to close it on both days. Room carpet has what appeared to be chewing gum and worn patches. Trim on dressing table coming off. But worst of all was the bathroom. The toilet seat was not centered and the bath, after taking a shower, took over ten minutes to drain away. The towel rail also needed cleaning.

Standards have slipped
We've stayed here many times over the years, but the hotel is starting to feel tired, with threadbare carpets in the room, and the cleaning standards have reduced. Its a good location, but needs a bit of investment. Breakfast had changed too and the choice was nowhere near like it has been previously which is disappointing. Will be looking elsewhere next time I'm there.

Spa treatment the one good thing going for it
Ok if you don't mind sitting in a cold reception/ bar area with no ambience at all. We ended up going to the esplanade hotel round the corner to warm up. That was a great hotel. The only thing good about the crown is the spa treatment. Will definitely not be going back to stay. Mentioned all our concerns to the manager at the crown last year. What a waste of time. Don't waste your money.

Another great visit to the Crown Spa
Always a pleasre to visit the Crown Spa Hotel. The staff a very friendly and helpful especially the more mature members of staff. Leisure facilities are very good with gym, pool, 2 saunas, a steam room etc. We didn't eat at the hotel on this occasion but have on previous visits and enjoyed the food. The only slight problem affecting our comfort was the temperature of the room which was very warm when we arrived but a combination of opening the windows and turning the radiator off worked in the main room. Unfortunately the towel rail in the bathroom would not turn off and it was so warm in there that the water had evaporated from the waste trap of the bath allowing the smell of drains through but this was quickly fixed by running a bath tap to refill the trap and stop the smell. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless.

Great hotel.
The hotel is amazing and the view from our 5th floor room were breath taking(sea view) you could also she the harbour all lit up. The breakfast was lovely and hot. Will be booking again when it warms up again latter next year.
