The overall impression is really good, the room is very big and there are kettle for boiling water and the shower is really good too. But the early morning when we tried to check out, there was not a single person on the reception and no one answer phone call on the emergency tel no., at last we just leave our room key on the table.

Good value room above a pub conveniently located
We stayed at Channings because it was convenient to visit family in Clifton. Rooms were fine for our needs, wifi was good enough for work-related video calls, continental breakfast was good. Staff were helpful. Since the rooms are above a bar, we were not surprised by typical noise from downstairs, and it did not affect our ability to rest and sleep.

Absolutely NOT worth for the price I paid. In my room the heating didn't work so I asked for the room to be changed (which thankfully they did) The room furniture was badly chipped as well as the bath tube.an extremely old TV : no way I could connect an amazon firestick. I was the only costumer sitting for breakfast and I had to wait more than 20 minutes to make my order. I kindly asked the receptionist to send me an invoice via email which she never did. Quality of the food served not bad.

Comfortable but dated
The hotel is ok but needs a lot of TLC. It is functional but certainly don’t book if you are looking for a spacious room with a modern feel. The room we had was small and outdated with a double bed that was comfortable. We did use the restaurant downstairs for dinner, which was reasonably priced and food was good. Breakfast was your normal continental or cooked breakfast and again it was ok. Parking in the area is a nightmare and the hotel does not have any or even one space where you can off load your bags. We ended up parking about a 10 minute walk away.

Bonne expérience, beau bâtiment, nous sommes arrivés tard mais grâce a l’aide du personnel nous avons quand même pu arranger un check in beaucoup plus tard que prévu. Merci beaucoup pour votre aide et pour cette expérience positive dans l’ensemble, même si les chambres sont assez anciennes et pas de la meilleure propreté, très convenable pour un court séjour.

Het hotel is een prachtig oud gebouw met een schitterende tuin. Daarnaast is het gelegen in een hele mooie wijk. Dat zijn de grote pluspunten. Helaas is het onderhoud van het hotel achterstallig... Ook waren de monumentale trappen niet schoon. Jammer! Het personeel is wel heel aardig en behulpzaam, dus ons verblijf was al met al prima, zolang je je maar niet stoort aan het helaas ontbreken van netheid.

welcoming but dirty
The service from the staff was good but the condition of the room was of a very poor quality, curtains were very dirty, poor decor and tv hanging of wall

We chose a family room because we needed two beds but the condition of the room was terrible. The state of decoration was terrible and the luggage rack was non useable because it was hanging off the wall. There was no toilet roll holder, just the bracket on the wall, so the toilet roll was on the floor. Senior management of Greene King should try staying in their hotels and ask themselves if they would personally pay £135 to stay in that room.
