Awesome Oceanfront views and location! Staff are super friendly and nice. Rooms are a little dated with some stains, quirks and minimal outlets for devices, etc. But overall had a great stay and would recommend the property.

Excellent location, service, and cleanliness.
Location was second-to-none. We could see the whales spraying out of their blowholes in the distance from our patio door on our last morning there. Housekeeping was also very good, and check in was courteous enough to call and let us know as soon as our room was ready.

Overall a great stay at this hotel , the location cannot be beat and the beach service ( chairs, towels , umbrella and porters to set it up ) was great . The staff at the hotel was very friendly and the rooms were serviceable . I loved that the hotel had actual keys instead of key cards , it was a cool retro touch . my only feedback is to maybe stop using scented cleaners in the rooms , something in the cleaning products really set off my allergies .

It was a week of bliss, between spending time on the balcony with its view of the ocean and the beach just feet away. I will miss the clean salt air and the steady heartbeat-like pounding of the waves on the shore and the calm it created in my core. Will definitely be returning!

Without doubt, the best thing about the Montauk Blue is the location on the beach. To hear the waves crashing, sitting on the balcony watching the sunrise and having such easy access to the beach was just amazing. The property itself is very dated, while the rooms are comfortable and clean, there were a few things that let it down. Firstly, no glasses to drink out of, no forks yet there was two knives, the shower was difficult to work and I felt I wasted a lot of water trying to get the water to heat up. Also the balcony was very dirty, lots of rust that had fallen off the air conditioning unit and no attempt to clean it up and lots of hairs on the balcony covering. It’s not the standard I would expect for the very hefty price. However, as soon as you see the view of the beach and the sea, all the negatives melt away. I guess that’s what drives the price up. I do recommend the Montauk Blue for the wonderful location, just don’t expect 5 star luxury.

Motel like hotel with outdoor entrance to rooms. Room was fairly clean but kind of small and the bathroom was pretty small. The location was excellent. Right on the beach just down the street from Main Street. Our room was in the second floor with balcony overlooking the beach and ocean. Expensive but can’t beat the view
