After booking through booking. Com we paid in full. The next day we got a message from the hotel stating we need to pay £10parking for 1 night .this was not declared by our booking.i rang the hotel and they told me that if a booked direct its free!!!
The customer is being mugged after settling the payment the day after . This is bad muggy practice. Then asked to take £50 against damage,the carpet in the room was already badly stained and the walls marked.
This was our 3rd stay ,not again while this is way we are treated.

Disappointing stay
The check in was lengthy and complicated due to how we had booked on line but then sorted . The car park fee is far too much was cross about this x
The room was fine but no lift working !
Hardly any staff about to help with questions once booked in x
The carpet in our room looked old and stains in places and window blind broken Room 205 .
Fortunately we had eaten out at lunch time as people waiting for their early evening meal were let down as apparently the Chef had left in an emergency !
No one at the bar to serve only one receptionist on trying to check in deal with the bar and make soup/sandwich for one couple who had booked a meal she rang to cancel the others !
I felt very sorry for her as clearly she was stressed .
The bar didn’t have many supplies of draft beer or cider no nibbles at all which a few people asked for as no food available x
So there were quite a few things not good there x just seemed there were not enough staff at all .
Breakfast was ok but buffet style only so food had been cooked for quite a while and one man got his money back as they ran out of bacon !
Looking back at your reviews these are common factors over the last few months and clearly nothing has been done to rectify any of these problems x
I stayed there a few years ago and it was first class but won’t be returning unless it gets better such a shame as it’s a lovely small hotel the staff that were there were very pleasant but clearly not happy!
You will lose custom soon!!

Only thing we have noticed over the years, is the lift has never worked. Air conditioning did not work either so quite cold. Staff friendly. Nice cosy atmosphere.

Fabulous stay as always.
We love this hotel so much we have stayed about 5 times in the last couple of years.
Lovely staff, clean comfortable rooms. Superb breakfast cooked fresh or Continental if you prefer.
Convenient easy walk to town centre's shops, pubs, restaurants.

Not Good
Couldn't stay as planned due to theft of my passport stopping my travel. Understand the hotel charged for my room but they also charged for meals I didn't have that were prepaid but not part of the "room" charges. Spoke to them and explained, Hotels.com spoke too, but they do not care at all. Overall 0/10 for customer service.

Comfy clean bedroom with a big bathroom
Great location as we were going to a gig at The Old Fire Station. Comfortable and clean room. Large fully equipped bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Fluffy white towels. Couldn't figure out the heating. We didn't raise this issue with the management as we were going out. We left the bathroom door open and the hot radiator there heated up both rooms. Good coffee making facilities.

Downhill since previous visits
The hotel is more run down than it used to be, it appears to be entering administration. They have introduced additional hidden charges such as parking, breakfast now costs more if you try and book it on arrival. The coffee at breakfast is now out of a conference pump machine rather than a cafetière. The night staff lady was very rude and the “master suite” blind doesn’t close so if you sit in the toilet you can make eye contact with the guests parking.

I question why I needed to pay £50 to cover "potential damage" to the room ( we are in our 60s!) which we were told, on checkout, that the money is returned to my account "within 10 days".
Sounds like a decent way to hold a lot of money on their account across all their rooms.
This practice should be prevented.
Paintwork was tired.

Had a very enjoyable one night stay to see a concert. It was convenient walk from the station and easy to get to the sea front. I am quite familiar with Bournemouth and this hotel was very good value. The room was spacious and the bathroom seemed quite new and fresh.
