On the plus side, the hotel is in a great and central location--an easy walk from Piccadilly station, close to all downtown attractions, St. Peter's Square, Chinatown, Gay Village, restaurants, etc. Bed was comfortable and my courtyard facing room was totally quiet. One doesn't need to ask for daily housekeeping , as one does in some much more expensive hotels these days. All this at a very good nightly rate. But this is still a budget hotel. Room is small and a bit tired--no desk or table if you need to do some work (as I did), a weird pre-fab bathroom (which had a faint smell of sewage for the first two days of my stay); one of the two elevators was out of service; and the otherwise OK lobby always with a stale smell of food (the lobby and a restaurant share the same space, though the latter always seemed empty). Am I too olfactorily sensitive? Not usually, but I would have had a much better impression of the place if it all smelled a bit fresher.
