This was my second stay at this hotel, and while I still think the location and decor are absolutely wonderful, our experience this time was noticeably less enjoyable than our first visit.
Both times, we booked “the small room,” but this time the room was significantly smaller than the one we had previously. The floor was also very uneven, making it quite uncomfortable to walk on – and more worryingly, I actually stepped on a nail sticking up from the entrance floor just outside the bathroom. It appeared to be coming up through the floor from below, which was both painful and concerning.
Overall, the first stay felt much more comfortable and welcoming. Back then, it honestly seemed like the hotel was making a real effort to impress us. This time, the service felt more indifferent, and the general comfort of the room was lacking.
We had also paid for breakfast, which is okay – but to be fair, it mostly consists of store-bought items rather than anything freshly prepared or homemade.
All that said, I’m not entirely put off by this hotel. It still has charm, and I may return in the future. But unfortunately, this last visit just didn’t live up to the standard set during our first stay.
