Well worth a visit
A historic building that has an amazing history. Our double room was huge with a really comfy bed. The room was serviced every day and very clean. Breakfast was a buffet style with everything you could want, Full English, pastries, fruit salad, yoghurt, ham, cheese etc. Staff super friendly and helpful throughout. Parking is available both at the hotel and 30 metres away at a public car park £12-14 a day.

It was amazing lovedcevery minute, the reception staff were friendly and efficient, the barman was amazing, friendly, and very welcoming. My only fault was the rooms in the suite were freezing on refection we should have called down and got some blankets. Breakfast was adequate a good selection but the hot food buffet was jnot hot just warm but still tasty.

A nice Hotel but noisy guests
Centrally located and a great breakfast. Room was fairly small and dated but clean and bed was comfy. Saturday night had to ring reception because of rowdy quests arguing and shouting in corridor. Staff did sort it but happened again at 2.30 am when rowdy quests started on floor above!! Noise really travelled in this hotel - seemed to be lots of groups of people there on nights out who had no regard for other guests. Spoiled our stay unfortunately ☹️

In my opinion this hotel runs on its high standards of the past. Its a beautiful building but needs repair in many places but still has character and that overides the condition and some staffs level of service to guests.

Would Stay Again
Super location in the centre of Harrogate. Reasonably priced as it included a buffet-style English breakfast with a good selection. It was held in a massive Victorian dining room which added a nice ambience. The bedroom itself was a little tired although the bathroom was just fine. A slight oddity was that the double bed was fixed against the wall meaning one person didn’t have a bedside table and had to scramble over t’other! We had the regular afternoon tea which was very good; we sat on the stools (actually comfortable, normally I would avoid) near the window watching the world go by. Would stay again.
