Very disappointed with this experience.
I booked Abode Manchester more than a month in advance, and one of the main reasons I chose this hotel was because it was clearly stated that the rooms had air conditioning. However, when I arrived, I was told that the air conditioning was broken in all rooms throughout the hotel.
At first, I thought I could manage by opening a window to get some ventilation — but to my surprise, the windows could not be opened at all. I called the front desk for help, and the manager eventually confirmed that the windows were designed not to open. Their only solution was to provide an extra fan. While the fan looked nice, it was far too weak to make a difference. To make things worse, the ceiling light bulbs gave off heat, making the room even more uncomfortable.
With the heatwave going on during our stay, the room remained extremely hot and stuffy, even past midnight. It was impossible to sleep — even without wearing any clothes, I was sweating constantly.
Honestly, if the air conditioning wasn’t working, that’s understandable — but why weren’t we notified in advance? A simple message would have allowed us to cancel and find somewhere else to stay. Not informing guests and still advertising rooms as air-conditioned feels misleading, if not deceptive.
Very disappointed with this experience.
