Beautiful property but some hiccups
Property is beautiful and we would stay again. There were a couple of things to take note of. At check in we were told we would be receiving breakfast baskets and would be texted the day before about delivery time. Unfortunately we were never contacted either day we stayed about this service. Another issue we encountered was during lunch. We ordered two tacos and when they came out they tasted a little off. When checking the food we discovered a clove. When we asked if this ingredient was supposed to be in the meal our waiter left to ask. After waiting over ten minutes for a response another staff member came back and we asked him the same question and he stated that was not supposed to be in our food. The previous waiter never came back. They were nice enough to discount the food but after that we decided not to eat on property.

Love coming to La Serena. This our third time. I feel like the staff was a little less friendly this last stay. The facility never disappoints. The restaurant was closed for a plumbing issue for the entire day and only limited beverages were available at the pool. For what you pay per evening, you would think they would have offered something to make up for the inconvenience. It was 105 each day we were there and stayed 3 days. Overall it is a great place to stay. Very intimate and clean facility.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a mini honeymoon right after our wedding, we also let the staff know before that we were celebrating. The property looked beautiful when we first arrived we parked out front,the front desk receptionist wasn’t very friendly she asked what make,model and color our car was I told her and then said “we just parked right out front” and she didn’t say anything. We then pulled our luggage up the steps and through the property to get to our room. It wasn’t till later we found out there were parking spaces in the back of the property right by our room. We stayed in room 14 with the outdoor spa. The room was beautiful and looked just like the photos but there was nothing special done for our honeymoon which was disappointing. The patio area was also very cute! The first day we got massages in what was a small room with independent contractors doing the massages (they let us know that they weren’t part of the hotel staff). It definitely wasn’t the experience I was expecting for a Michelin star hotel spa. Both nights I was woken up by what I thought was the shower on full blast but it was the air conditioner draining into the shower? It didn’t stop for hours I threw towels in the shower to soften the noise but it didn’t work.So we didn’t sleep either night.Also the left sinks water didn’t work out of one faucets & the spa light also didn’t turn on.The delivered “breakfast” to your door every morning which was a joke.

I have stayed here before and alot of the great little details were now removed . The hotel as luxurious as it could be now is just really basic . I would not spend 900 on a 2 day stay for all the basic things and details that stood it apart . I would have much rather stayed else where. Definitely not ever booking here again . The ac unit was not working in my first room and we had to downgrade to another room. The front desk personnel was rude and for this experience it’s not worth the money .
