First, a few good things -- bed was comfortable, room had plenty of room to spread our things out, and roof-top bar was lovely (during the day, at least).
However, we CANNOT recommend staying here under any circumstance. This area of town is a bit sketchy, so we felt uncomfortable walking around at night, it was further away from the metro than we realized, and it was so loud on Friday and Saturday nights that we were unable to sleep.
The rooftop bar hosts a DJ and packed party on weekend evenings until 2am, and our room was right below the bar. We thought we could get some sleep then, but WRONG -- that's when the roof pool party at the apartment complex across the street really kicked up. Loud music kept us awake until at least 5am. We lost most of our Saturday in Los Angeles because we had to sleep in to get even a little rest. Windows are old and uninsulated, so did nothing to block the noise coming in.
If you must stay here, make sure to request a room that does not face Broadway. This was a huge mistake staying here, and we'll never do it again. Really, it ruined our weekend in LA. Oh, and the bathroom grout and caulk had mildew, and the room carpet was dirty.
