Not worthwhile
The place is obviously not kept up much. The pool area was quite a sight. The paint everywhere is sad and things just look unkept. My main complaint is the sheets on the bed were extremely uncomfortable. They felt like polyester and kept popping up all night. My daughter three times kept trying to pull them tight during the night.

Rigged ratings, beware
Picked the hotel because it was an 8.8 on the hotel.com app. There is no way this is possible. It is in decent shape for an old hotel but the sheets were full of static, they sparked all night and made both our skin itch. The coffee looked like tea it was so weak. Don’t think they clean the comforter and the heater was very loud.

Our pick in Lone Pine
We’ve stayed here before, and will continue to come back. It’s a short walk to restaurants and entertainment. The place is always clean, the staff friendly. The fan works to eliminate road noise. Lots of channels if you watch cable. Very close to trails and all that Lone Pine has to offer.

Comfortable stay
The check in was very efficient. The room was clean and comfortable. It would have been nice if the desk had a lamp to work by and also some ice. Overall a nice, comfortable stay.

Biggest complait was customer service. At check in the desk guy looked like he just crawled out of bed, 4PM. I had to ask hin to turn on a light so I could fill out registratin card. Had TV issues. Changed rooms and that TV only got 1 channel. Not so bad if you want to watch a "Family Guy" marathon.

Trails Motel in Lone Pine is a sweet little motel, reasonably priced for the area. The front desk and cleaner saw when we arrived that our room hadn't been cleaned yet, so they hopped right to it and did our room. The room was very, very clean. This is definitely a no frills motel but we knew that and just needed a place to lay our heads before heading to Death Valley. If you don't need any extras, this is a clean, well managed, low-key stay.

Bon hôtel, bon lit et equipement pratiques.
Nous avons passé une agréable nuit dans cet hôtel. Le lit était vraiment confortable, et les draps très doux. L'équipement de la chambre est très bien : cafetière+ frigo + micro-onde ! Ce qui permet de manger quelques chose de chaud acheté en magasin à moindre coût. Et le plus était également la possibilité faire une machine avec le lave-linge et le sèche-linge à disposition (environ 7 euros dosette incluse) Très bon passage à cet hôtel lors de notre road trip de 21 jours.

Probably would pick somewhere else
The room was big and the shower was very clean and warm (though not a lot of pressure). Room was mostly clean but could use an update. The view of Mt. Whitney was beautiful. However, about two hours into our stay as we settled into sleep the room began to smell horribly. It was a sour sewer smell like something died in the room. It made breathing and sleeping terrible. We had no clue what it was but it was the worst. Also the room did not have a smoke detector which I am sure is a huge safety violation. We probably should have demanded a new room. If there was a fire we might not have awoken. Terrifying to think about. Tried to report issues in the morning but no one was around when we left.
