It's a motel and the location is pretty good. Everything is in walking distance since it's a small town. Yet, the lodge is too old and it's on the main street. You can hear everything, even the snores next door.

The Gunn Hotel was such a joy to stay at. It is a historic building in a California gold mining town, and it embraces that fact. My wife & I werent the only ones taking pictures around the hotel & its grounds. The staff was friendly and I really appreciated their dining recommendations

They were doing repairs in rooms and materials were everywhere including many strips of wood with nails. Dirty carpet padding was thrown all around their propane tank outside. There was a plastic bag floating in their gross dirty pool. They should not have been open during this.

The room was fine. There was a prom next door it was so loud we didn’t even stay the night.

The motel is 175 years old, so the condition isn't perfect, but I thought that was part of the charm. The decor and antiques added to the overall aesthetic of the place. The property manager is eager to please to make your stay pleasant. The breakfast (included) had a waffle maker and hot quiche. I very much enjoyed my stay and would stay again if I find myself in the area in the future.

The stay was fine its a quaint hotel. Its known for being haunted and im not quite sure if what we experienced was something like that as there was someone walking by our room late at night back and forth but ended up going in the direction that was blocked off and when we looked there was no one there. Which was exciting because i love that type of stuff.

Room was clean and nice. It was cold outside and there was only a small heater to heat the room. The hotel is not friendly for the the elderly or people that have a hard time with stairs. No parking for check in. Parking overnight was horrible.

Gunn house 3/8/25, rooms #12 and 14. $84 per night, good rate but there are reasons why: 1. Clerk not in office at check in or check out. Yelled for him, nothing. Had to call hotel phone to get assistance. Ended up leaving keys in a bucket on the counter where other people left theirs. 2. Room signs are deceiving. They lead you one way while the room is another. Very little signage on property. 3. Parking leaves a lot to be desired. Only one ADA space. 4. Lots of stairs, not ADA friendly 5. On check in, the tv remote didn’t work so called the office. 45 minutes later he came to check it and said a repairman would come Monday. Several hours later, we found the correct remote had fallen behind a nightstand by a previous guest leaving the hotel having to use a different one. 6. Toilet low, not ADA, hard to get off of even for someone with no mobility issues. 7. No phone in room. Had to use cell phone to contact them. 8. Clock in room inoperative. Later found to be unplugged. 9. Seems to be just one ADA room on property (#7). 10. No signs as to the breakfast area, ice machine or emergency exit. 11. No lighting on walkway along driveway to parking. 12. Air conditioner on wall about 6-2” high, unlit and painted same color as wall. No lighting or warning. Caught head on it during night hours as it could not be seen in the dark hours. 13. Lots of street noise but is to be expected facing street. 14. Room was cool, the heater took awhile to warm the room up but eventually did.

This place is Amazing. Super quiet. Loved the front desk staff, super friendly & helpful. Also, breakfast was EURO style, which was a nice surprise. Will stay again.
