Maybe I had too high expectation, the overall experience was not that perfect.
The front desk was quite cold, not helpful at all. Other staff were not so warm too, which made the mansion not so hospitable.
Facilities were good, room was spacious. However, the small swimming pool was not so clean.
One bizarre thing is all the staff don’t speak mandarin. You know, it’s in Penang, the Chinese language is so popular here. The other hotels and guest houses we stayed all have at least one mandarin-speaking staff. Also, the former owner Chang was a patriotic Chinese businessman. It couldn’t be more normal to speak Chinese there. The last but not the least, on the day we stayed, the guests were mostly Chinese. You can see the management could be so inconsiderate, and maybe arrogant. They should analyze their guests data more, and know what to improve. It’s not the facility, but the mind and idea.
