Dirty, poor staff attitude
Nice village hotel and our check in and room were good on the face of it. Other than the guy who checked us in, staff was generally rude. We had booked for breakfast at 08:00 on the first morning, and having travelled the previous day from Asia ended up waking earlier and found ourselves waiting in the breakfast room around 7:10, hoping to be able to request breakfast at 7:30 when it opened. We were greeted by a man in a hurry, brusquely telling us over his shoulder whilst rushing around doing his business that we were way too early for breakfast and we should come back at 7:30. I replied that we didn’t want breakfast there and then-just a conversation whereupon he stopped and listened. Just rude. Later that day we stopped for a pre-dinner drink in the bar, sat down and ordered and then found that the table was sticky with unwashed spillage from beer glasses the previous night. So we moved. Having done so, we got a pile of “attitude” from the short haired blonde lady managing the bar. Sadly the second table was also filthy, so we had to ask her to clean it. We (2) were sitting at a table to seat four. She came along with a wet towel and cleaned (badly) half of it, leaving the remainder sticky and disgusting. Attitude again. Superior entitled and not caring at all about her clients. Finally room service was awful. Pulled the bed straight, no towel change, didn’t wash the teacups properly. This hotel needs to get its act together to stay in business.
