Great little stopover

We only needed a place for a one-off stopover and the George and dragon fitted the bill perfectly. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Recommended

Nice accomodation. Would have dinner elsewhere

Accomodation fine. Welcome greeting factual but short on personality. Evening meal menu was short on options and tried to be too 'modern and trendy' for my taste. Steak at evening meal was cold and served on cold plate. Bacon at breakfast was over cooked and appeared to have been prepared early and 'kept warm'. Would stay again if visiting area but would give evening meal a miss and find restaurant in town instead!

A Pleasant Surprise!

A fantastic gem of a place….accommodation clean, fresh, well appointed, individual….bed very comfortable….restaurant/menu and wine list exceptional…breakfast not to be missed….and excellent value for money, you really got what you paid for and more unlike some of the high-end chains we’ve visited recently….we will be back!!

Excellent hotel, a true gem

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The room was wonderful - comfortable and clean, with nice extra touches. The bed was so comfortable it was difficult to get up in the morning! The restaurant was wonderful - excellent food and service. Breakfast was also excellent. Will definitely book again next time we are in the area.

Great handling of a quick stay

It was a one night stay and the kitchen was closed. They phoned ahead to tell me and the staff on that night were really friendly I also managed to get a cheeky wee burger as the work was done so quickly! Yummie

Great weekend break

After reading a review in a paper we decided to try for ourselves. The George and Dragon staff were so welcoming and friendly easy to talk to and very helpful. Our room was clean and tidy with lovely en-suite shower room , soft towels and toiletries . Breakfast and evening meal was delicious all staff made sure our dining experience was so comfortable. We shall return.
