My home away from home while in Douglas, nice and cozy stay, shout out to the bartender and staff at the coffee shop, really enjoy visiting Douglas just so I have an excuse to stay at the Gadsen

Pinch Villa would approve!
This place is historic u can feel a sense of tradition in this pace! The ambience is from another time the room was comfortable with an overhead fan and a room heater that looked like a fireplace, had the ribeye with the Brussels sprouts and fries! Was cooked perfectly and very flavorful would recommend! Headed to the bar on site and tried out a true old fashioned it was fantastic it was indeed a magic trick this is the best place to spend the nite in Douglas hands down!

This is a great stay! Hotel is currently under renovation and I cannot wait until its done and we will revisit. Staff is amazing and more than willing to answer my questions. The history of this place is so fun to read about. Its said to be haunted but we did feel anything off. Walking distance to Mexico, we didn't cross, but now wishing we did for shopping. Not alot of shopping in historic district.

Rented an apartment style room with 2 separate bedrooms. Got there and give a apartment with 2 beds in same room. When I asked wad told the other rooms with separate bedrooms were all taken. Entire 2bd floor had no heat. 2 brand new fireplaces in space but would not work, probably due to old electrical lines. When asked, staff replied there only supposed to be for the tvs setting on them. 2nd day, finally got space heaters to at least help warm the rooms. A besutiful hotel but unfortunately, poorly ran. Will not return.

Bathroom is so small. Place is old and a little smelly elevators are old and wmoloyee has to take you. Pictures look nice but I real life it’s not

This is an incredible piece of history. What an wonderful experience and the staff were awesome. The right 1907 parts have been updated and the right parts stand in historical glory.

Notable Community Service / Great Hotel
I stayed over a weekend when the hotel used the empty shops on the first level for a wonderful history display of the Douglas community, the hotel, local veterans, all kinds of interesting stuff. Like history? Stay here. The staff was outstanding, except for the owner who has a bad habit of calling people "bro". Recommendation? Stop that!! The restaurant is exceptional for a small town, hotel restaurant. I had some wonderful flat enchiladas and the obligatory Caesar Salad. The sauce/dressing on those two were clearly not out of bottles and remarkably tasty. Bed was as comfortable as they come. I would definitely stay again.

I loved the history and the jacuzzi. Having my coffee in the lobby at 5:00 am was also a treat. The only negative was the pillows, but nothings perfect. Great place to visit
