Horrible experience!
Very poor customer service! Given wrong room, then couldn’t find us in system, finally found then given another room. During the night, reception person appeared at our door, opened door without our permission to enter. Had paper with someone else’s name on it, wanting to know if it was us, wanted us to sign it! We told them we had signed our form earlier at check in and refused to sign another one. Room had no bolt lock on door, very upset that they would open our door without waiting for permission to enter!

We left. The conditions of the room were unacceptable. Rusted, dirty showers, dirty carpet half, painted wall, strong smell, not sure what, but definitely disinfect chemical .. packed and left to another hotel across the street. Going to seek a full refund. The room should have not been on the market. You could see inside the room from the open space between the door frame and locking system, no privacy curtains, and outside a big street lamp .. we packed and left. The person at the desk was very nice. She went to see the room and was embarrassed. UNACCEPTABLE... I want my money back. The system wont let me upload pictures.. FYI

Stay Nearby Instead
Other than feeling very unsafe, we had an enjoyable experience here - if for no other reason than the laughs. I learned how to out a chair under my door to lock it, as there are no others. People seem to live here, and they are quick to tell you how awful the city is, and this property in general. Walls are thin, so don’t stay here if you are uncomfortable with drug deals or s-x acts. The bar isn’t operating due to staffing shortage, but the Tiki Bar and Grill has a great steak and is a fun time.

The property is very run down and many of the doors had damaged door locks / knobs. Many of the rooms were out of service and in varying degrees of remodeling. The hallways, walls, lights and furnishings were very worn. In general I would never recommend this facility to anyone. I will say that I met several front desk clerks and they were helpful, friendly and pleasant. This is a unique historic facility and it has been let to fall into terrible condition.

What ever you do, STAY AWAY!
Arrived to a lobby full of odd people haning around. I think the majority of the hotel is rented as section 8? Got to my room, and there was no wifi or tv. They said sorry, no wifi. You can use your computor in the lobby. But there was no wifi there either. As for the TV they just said sorry. I got back to my room, where there was a guy standing outside the door to the room next to me screaming. He eventuelly kicked the door in and there was a fight. Police arrived, and barked at the people. There was a dog barking in the room non-stop. At 8pm I had enough and left. I asked for my money back, but they said no. I asked for partial payment back, but they said no. This was the absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had, and what ever you do, stay away!

Scary
So at check in there were people in the lobby arguing. No elevator. Room was ok but hallway was loud all night with people yelling and slamming doors. Kind of scary. Would never stay here again.

I would never stay here again
Hotel was built in the 1930s. Unfortunately no updates/renovations have been made since then. Poorly run, dirty and small rooms. The cocktail lounge was embarassing.

Not worth the money
The lights over the sink did not work. The lamp next to the bed did not work. I requested that they be fixed, did not happen. The carpet was so filthy that walking barefoot from the bed to the bathroom made the bottom of my feet black. Found a roach trying to climb into my purse.

Zimmer i.O. Service mangelhaft
Zimmer Nr. 127, neben der Wascküche! Nach 24 Uhr Maschine aktiv! Zimmer ok, das geht i.O. Am Morgen im Badezimmer, hunderte von kleine Fliegen! Morgenessen, es ist eine Frechheit dieses minderwertige Material als Morgenessen zu bezeichnen! Z.B. die kleinen Milch-Tütchen, nicht gekühlt, deshalb natürlich Milch geschieden! Sehr junges Personal, ist ja gut! Aber entweder sind die nicht geschult, oder sehr gleichgültig! Vor einem Jahr hatte ich in 1. Stock ein Zimmer war gut. Und in der Rezeption eine erfahrene Person. Wenn das die Zukunft ist mit der Generation Z, dann gehe ich wieder campieren! Leider ist das der negative Trend, hatte diese Jahr einige solche Hotels in den USA. In der höheren Preisklasse, eher positiv!

The manager and front desk staff was rude. The rooms are extremely outdated and dirty and room was not able to lock. Certainly did not feel safe. We booked a room but DID not stay.
