Probably won't go back
The potential was there for a great stay. The room itself was what we expected. However, the room had a strong fishy odor and the resort was unwilling to move us to another room (they said they couldn't due to occupancy). We ended up buying air fresheners to mask the odor. The resort did eventually provide us dining vouchers which we used for a very nice meal we wouldn't have paid for on our own. How we wish it had been handled: We wish the resort had promptly moved us to another room. Or, if they truly couldn't change our room, that they had provided the air fresheners in addition to the dining voucher. One additional note on the service: We used the text contact for some of our correspondence with the resort, and felt like sometimes it was probably AI, and sometimes it was an actual person. After the first night in the smelly room, we called a phone number provided by the text contact and got no response for several hours. Only after we responded to the text contact with a rating of 5 out of 10 did we actually get some adequate response to our complaint.

Great get-away!
We had a wonderful stay here! I loved the trolley... it took us to ski, to the gym, to the restaurants and back home again. EVERYONE at the front desk were lovely and accomodating. They treated me like I was a celebrity guest. I appreciate the price and the attention to detail.

i felt like low class
We were at the holiday inn which is part of a large group of buildings in a giant resort complex. have to get a shuttle bus from room to main building to swim or eat then shuttle back when done. for a significant amount of money more you can stay in main building.

Overall our stay was pleasant, however the pool was extremely cold which caused the kids to want to play in the hot tub rather than the pool. The situation was addressed at least two times to the manager and I also sent a picture of at least eight children plus a couple adults via text to the manager who acknowledged receipt of the text and picture. I did not see a change in the temperature or the amount of children in the hot tub. The bathroom drains and pipes let out a horrible smell which was rather unpleasant perhaps due to the unit sitting vacant for a while. The kitchen sink had minimal water pressure and maintenance had to be called for a repair. The maintenance engineer was prompt and did get the situation addressed immediately. Finally seeing as though there was several rooms vacant I'm not sure why we had to be next to a room full of guests who partied through the night and were extremely loud causing us to get little sleep, I believe housekeeping had to be called to their room late that evening. Despite my husband reaching out to the guests asking them to try to be respectful and tone it down, it continued all through the night, causing very little sleep.

Comfortable, but needs maintenance.
Everything was really very nice and comfortable with the exception of a couple of maintenance issues. 1) The bedroom door was broken and didn't latch. 2) The plug for the bathtub drain did not seal. I was really looking forward to that nice jacuzzi-type bath, but the tub did not hold water.

The room was fine over all, a bit stuffy and the bathroon had a urine smell to it, later when we showered, i also noticed a smell like wet rags from the shower curtian. I think that doesnt get washed after each stay and has a wet eag smell to it. It was a bit annoying because I was able to smell the "urine" smell from the libing room. I did buy lysol spray to try to remove the smell. The person that checked us in was a bit rude. When asking for our email. I did mention the i thought they should have my email but he said with a very direct and bit of an attitude that there was no email address input into their ststem. Also the room was not available until after 4pm. He did say that it was busy, thats why I didnt make it a thing or asked forsomeone to come and re clean the room. But it was annoying. Luckily someone was serving champagne and made the moment better.

A Few Things to Work On...
Check in process needs to be clearer. The email said there was no front desk at the property with no further information (and the address to check in was incorrect on the email and on google.) At the property the only check in information was on the sign for the Holiday Inn, which is easy to miss when driving in the dark. We had to ask other folks staying where we had to check in. Information about that in the email would be great beforehand, perhaps stating that check in is at the Grand Geneva Resort Lobby. The room was freezing when we got there, and we had to wait a few hours to be comfortable once we turned the heat and the fireplace on. (The thermostat was set to cool when we got there - it was around 55 degrees in the room and less than 30 outside(Wisconsin winter)) Turning on the heat if there are guests arriving that day would be a huge help. We were a little surprised that our room was an outdoor room (where our door led immediately outside, whereas the other buildings were fully inside) there was nothing about that on the listing. The listing feels as though it is for the Grand Geneva Resort, and does not list any actual helpful information about this offshoot of the main resort. Overall, we did enjoy our stay, but these were a few things that impacted our satisfaction.
