I booked a suite that was advertised handicap accessible with a roll in shower. My husband is a paraplegic and wheelchair bound. Unfortunately the hotel double booked and gave away the room. How we found out was quite invasive for all parties. We were given room keys to an occupied room, and was able to walk in, with access to other people's personal belongings strewn all over the room. We went back to let staff know and was assisted by the same front desk staff, Jessica, who gave us a room that could not accommodate for my husband needs. She had terrible customer service skills. We had to ask for a refund, which took the hotel 4 days to acknowledge and process, because Hotels.com failed to due their part. We drove 4 hrs to our destination only to cancel our trip short due to it being ruined by the hotels inability to properly hold reservations. If you are traveling with someone who is handicapped, please be aware that this hotel may not be able to accommodate for them and that staff are not properly educated on why small details such as roll in showers or room accessibility are necessary for their disabled guests. We did not get a sincere apology from staff on site for this ridiculous situation. Again, think twice, as it may be you in either uncomfortable situations. Having another guest walk straight into your room and having your things possibly stolen or being stuck in a bad situation 4 hours from home. Do better Grandview!
