Let me preface this by saying I travel a lot and stay in budget motels. I have LOW expectations beyond clean sheets and a door that locks. I would NEVER recommend this hotel. Would sleep in my car first.
I received an e-mail after I booked the hotel stating than a $100 HOLD on a credit card was required upon check-in. Ok, standard. When went to check-in the lady said that it was a $100 CHARGE that would then be refunded in 3-5 days. I clarified multiple times that it was a CHARGE and NOT a HOLD. She said yes, that I could no it on a card, or in cash that be refunded upon checkout. I was not at all comfortable with that as it was against what was written. Plus the "lobby" was dirty, broken, and behind the desk looked like they were in the midst of a move as there was stuff everywhere. Just from the lobby felt super shady and did not inspire trust.
I told her that I wanted to cancel the stay, she said fine, but that I would have to initiate through expedia and that they would approve the refund. I did so in the parking lot. Expedia said that the hotel refused the refund so I went back inside and asked the lady about it. She said that the manager had to approve it tomorrow. Again I confirmed mutliple times that they WOULD approve the refund. She said YES.
Guess what. They didn't. Felt like they do this a lot and just pocket the money...
Stayed at the comfort inn next door and it was lovely.
