Great Hotel!
Great service, super quiet room, comfortable king bed, nice bathroom amenities, great breakfast included. Location is close to the airport but also conveniently located near the historic center. Highly recommend!

Unknown slice of heaven!
It truly was the unknown and then you walk through a door into heaven! I had to remind myself that I had not left Mérida! We switched from busy Paseo de Montejo area to the quiet, peaceful neighborhood of Santiago. We booked a room with a private pool & loved the peaceful small, but perfect outdoor space. The 2 bedroom was perfect for our family of 3 adults. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. One thing to note is there are a few somewhat strict rules: only one coffee pod per person/per day. Breakfast is one drink, coffee refill is extra. Be sure if you book online that your reservation has the correct number of guests. There was a little glitch with that on check in, but the staff was patient and very helpful to straighten it out. Breakfast is good! Fruit plate & eggs prepared to order! We had wonderful massages at the spa here too! There is a photo in the lobby showing what the place looked like before they renovated it! Amazing! It is truly an oasis in the city. My only complaint, but not really a complaint, is the beds are a bit hard. We still slept well because it was quiet and turned the ceiling fan on and the door with screen open to our pool. Woke up to the birds singing in the morning. We even extended our stay here! I highly recommend Hotel Unknown! It will soon be known!

Great choice
We returned to this small and welcoming hotel and it felt like coming home. Not ultra fancy but stylishly decorated with a lot of tasteful wood accents. Really very nice and well located, close to the Santiago Park and very walkable to the main plaza and other parks. Staff very friendly. Many rooms have a little dipping pool and there is a mid sized central one on the grounds which we've always had to ourselves. The restaurant is small but pleasant and the lobby counter extends into a small bar where they'll serve you a drink. TV, safe, coffee service, all fine. Only things I'll mention are no fridge (seems common) and the pathway to rooms is sort of like railway ties, not sure how easily a wheelchair navigates the path.

The Perfect Getaway
Hotel Unknown is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The rooms are huge, incredibly clean, and come with a separate living area. The "Standard Room" should be called the "Standard Suite." It comes with a small private garden. The room comes with solid furniture. Honestly, it's better than the pictures and rivals what I've seen in four and five star luxury hotels. The staff are very friendly and helpful and give you plenty of privacy. It's in a quiet, artsy, safe neighborhood close to the central area. There are some great cafes and restaurants very close by. The hotel allows pets. If that bothers you, you might want to ask them to put you in a room away from the lobby. The breakfast consists of a small fruit plate, eggs, and tortillas. We loved the place and can't wait to go back. If you like small boutique hotels, this place is *perfect*.

Cest un joli hôtel, les chambres sont grandes et le petit jardin avec le bassin bien agréable. Le service est tres bien. Le petit dejeuner meriterait un peu plus de diversité (oeuf et fruits) avec un café. Pas de souci pour se garer. Lacces au centre ville est facile, nous faisions la moitie avec la voiture et le reste a pied. Manque d'insonorisation avec la chambre voisine.

Nuestra experiencia por 7 noches en el "Hotel Unknown" fue excelente. El "staff" del hotel es muy amable y disponibles para ayudar con cualquier cosa o duda, como consejos de actividades y arreglos del transporte particular, etcetera. La piscina con plantas tropicales alreador es muy bonita para relajarte y refrescarte. Hay varias opciones para el desayuno diario, todo muy rico y abundante. Los cuartos son muy comodos con diseno sencillo y calmante, bien equipado. El hotel esta bien ubicada para caminar al centro o coger transporte a cualquier paseo dentro o fuera de Merida. Sobre todo nos gusto los masages que recibimos de Guillermo en el Spa que esta ubicada en el Hotel. Hay un menu de ofertas de masages diferentes que se puede escoger, y los precios muy razonables. En fin, el Hotel Unknown es "super chil" (calma y tranquilo) y fue perfecto para nosotras. Esperamos regresar!

Hotel interesante en el Barrio de Santiago. No esta tan cerca del Centro Historico, caminando son 15 a 20 min. No lo recomiendo para personas de 3a. Edad o con niños, los pasillos para llegar a los cuartos y albercas no tienen piso, sino troncos de madera desiguales y grava, lo que hace imposible llevar maletas, silla de ruedas, carriola y es facil caerse.

Empleados muy serviciales, Mario y Marielis (recepción) son personas excepcionales con buena conversación y facilitan todo el proceso dentro y hasta fuera del hotel. En general el hotel está muy bien ubicado si deseas quedarte centro Merida, limpio, habitaciones grandes, bien distribuidas y acogedoras. Queda en un sector que se nota está en pleno resurgimiento, remozando viviendas en construcción y esperamos pronto las calles. Volvería a quedarme sin duda.
