My wife and I didn’t see much difference between this room & that of Super 8. We don’t use the swimming pool so that is not a plus for us. It was a good stay though.

One thing that put us in a sour mood was the lady at the check in desk this past Friday afternoon. She wasn’t very friendly, welcoming or knowledgeable about the area at all. She didn’t know where any good restaurants were to eat. She said to just drive around! I asked her directions to a local attraction and she said she had no clue where it was. She was very condescending and rude! Also, we were disappointed that there were no waffle irons in the breakfast area. I wanted one as it showed them on their website. There was no explanation either. I can understand because of the Covid scare, but at least mention that it your Covid section! Everyone else was very friendly and helpful.

The location was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay so pleasant. It was quiet, clean, and overall a good experience. The breakfast was pretty disappointing, but the coffee was good. Definitely would stay again.

Bad Customer Service

After considering our options while staying in Boone to visit family, we decided on the Baymont Inn and Suites. Upon check-in, it was a very lengthy experience and seemed as though the front desk attendant wasn’t quite sure what she was doing. We got to the room and were pleasantly surprised with the large hot tub we had booked in the room. I had called ahead of time to the hotel and asked about the pool and if it was open for our kids during the Covid-19 pandemic. I was told it was open and the kids were welcome to swim. We decided that the evening we checked in we would take the kids for a swim. While checking in I clarified with the front desk that the kids who were staying with their grandma in Boone would be coming to swim, she assured me it would be ok. We got in the pool, about 20 minutes after we were playing in the pool the front desk lady came and informed me that during my stay, if my kids wanted to play in the pool it would cost $8 per child, per day. I was shocked, and not sure what to say so I agreed and we hurried out of the pool. Several times during the trip we needed more towels and the front desk seemed like it was a hassle to help. We paid over $600 for 4 nights at a hotel in which we felt like we were an inconvenience. I understand the pandemic has made things difficult, but nickel and diming your customers is not the answer. The room was fairly clean, mattress was uncomfortable. Housekeeping did a good job and we left a tip.

Our room was not clean. There were several spots on the walls where things had been splattered or smeared and not cleaned up. The bedding had stains on it and the bathroom had a lot of mildew and dirty handprints all over the bathroom walls. The rooms and beds were very small.

Our stay at the Baymont inn, in Boone was not a great. We chose to stay there because of the pool. We had two rooms and had relatives join us. The front desk person was unpleasant. We figured while we let kids play in the pool, parents to hangout and visit and have some drinks. This is not the case at the Baymont. No drinks are allowed outside of your rooms. Breakfast the next morning was horrible. Not even enough toast for 4 kids. Butters was frozen. When we asked about the breakfast, the front desk person was very rude. Too say the least, we checked out after breakfast and went across the road to Cobblestone. That’s a great hotel!
