We called in advance to ask for a room with a two person jacuzzi tub in it. We got in very late, knew no pools/hotub would be open and had been driving through the MW Jan cold on adventures and only wanted to soak. We called to verify this option, they had1 king deluxe suite. I booked through my credit card instead of their website, I informed the front desk who said if I booked the wrong one we’d deal with it there. I ended up paying a bit more plus fees which was fine. But the room had not been well cleaned as there were strange, very dirty swabs of TP clogging the peepholes, small amounts of wadded trash pieces under the couch..most importantly the tub didn’t work!!! I called the desk, they said maintenance wouldn’t be in until the next day. The problem with the jetted deluxe suite tub was there was no way to hold what would release the shower into the bath. It would have taken HOURS. We were so tired we crashed and figured we would talk to the desk about it when we woke up.
The final push to leave was at breakfast. The man serving it was hostile and rude. He said he was in pain, had fallen the weekend before on ice. I had sympathy but he was very nasty, slamming containers of food, almost refusing to give me a second plate to bring to my sleeping partner, and angry at his job. He routinely winced and swore. I’m not sure who to be upset with- maybe the hotel & their policies? Or what. But it was bad. I will be contacting the hotel for some sort of refund.
