Great stay with full service breakfast
We arrived first for dinner. A friend told me there was still a Bennigans restaurant in the area as my husband and I first met at one in Virginia almost 25 years ago and this was the first visit to one since 2008. The food and service is the same. We then checked in at the front desk and they gave me our keys and breakfast tickets as we prepaid. We got into our room and couldn’t figure out how to close the blinds as there was no pull chain. Maintenance came and we were surprised that there is a remote control on the wall to the left of the window! This would be something I think should be told to us at check in. We had to call maintenance again because our room had no tv remote and when they brought us one it didn’t work because the battery compartment was corroded. After all that and finally getting a great night sleep we notice the shower had a large crack and the shower head wouldn’t stay upright. It’s a handheld shower head so it kept falling down. Breakfast was amazing and there was so many options like bacon, sausage, potatoes, breads, muffins, cereal, French toast, coffees, teas and juices.

We keep coming back
We stay here when visiting family. We used to stay at a nearby property until they reduced their amenities and switched to this one. We haven't been disappointed. The property is in good condition with a nice pool. The staff has always been helpful. We'll keep coming back.

Nice stay but need to address some details
We were in town for shopping and visiting friends. Staff was courteous and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Rooms need a little TLC. We left our first room because it wreaked of cigar smoke. We moved out of our second room when the heating unit would not work properly. Room #3 was comfortable and as I said staff was apologetic and helpful, but items like broken window shade, broken towel rack and loose floor tile need to be addressed. We will stay here again.

I stayed in a king suite on the 8th floor. Outside of my room there was a spot light aimed towards the building I’m assuming to light up the hotel name. The entire back wall is a window and the bed next to it, the curtains in the suite are opaque with black out curtains that only close 1/8 of the window length on each side. The middle 8 ft of see through curtains have a blinding spot light pointed at them. My room was lit up all night long. It was like trying to sleep with the lights on. I have absolutely no other complaints, but I spent $200 on a room to sleep in and was not able to sleep. I asked the front desk if they had received any previous complaints about the lights in which he replied that they had not but further stating that the rooms were going to be renovated soon and that included having full length black out curtains. That was a rather specific detail to note, obviously this was a much larger issue than they let on. I did need to stay another night in which I have decided to book a room at different hotel for tonight. I did stick with Holiday Inn, but went to the next city. I should have been reimbursed for the stay since I have to get my family packed up and moved to another city so we can actually sleep comfortably tonight.
