I paid extra for a beach view. See enclosed picture of what I first got…not only very difficult to see any view of the ocean, they were remodeling the pool and made it a worse eye sore. I get that remodels need to take place at some point, but no apologies or acknowledgement. We mentioned that we paid extra and were told they could only guarantee a view at the ‘Beach Front’ level, not ‘Beach View’. So why even offer any kind of upgrade like I did? Felt very misleading and a difficult position for front desk personnel. We asked if we could switch and they said they were full. We then asked if any days of our trip were open and she said two days were but then we would have to switch back. We said we’d take any better days and she said she couldn’t change it, but she would leave a note for the next person. When we came down the next morning to switch, that person said there was no note and no beach fronts available. She did at least move us away from the hole in the ground pool, but as you can see from the second pic, a far cry from a beach view.
Overall, we felt like an inconvenience when it came to service…no clean towels like we asked for, no one hour later check out granted, etc. When we asked for towels the next day after not receiving any the day prior, we were told we had to ask for them by 10:00am which had passed. And then when we checked out at the end, there were $11 daily parking fees assessed that no one mentioned at check in. They did end up refunding half the fees
