Hamburg is a great city, I felt safe walking at night but be aware of your surroundings. I went out to explore the area. I recommend walking around the Alster, the plaza around the Rathous, the shopping streets around the Europa Mal. Enjoy the city!

There is so much to see and do in this city, such a diverse place to experience. We walked along the canals and around the lake, and we visited museums and markets. The parks are well maintained, clean and pleasant and we even went on the beach.

Great public transportation with a special week ticket for tourists. Love the harbor, canals, St. Michaelis church and the Reeperbahn. I also went to a beach along the Elbe to swim in the river. The Summer Dom was also going on (fun fair).

Checkout the tunnel to the island. So much fun to bike or walk through. If you have time a bike tour is best way to see the sights.

Beautiful city with great history, architecture, shopping and dining as well as entertainment options. People are generally very polite and friendly to visitors - especially compared to other German cities like Berlin, Frankfurt, Cologne or Munich.
"Older classic hotel with high ceilings and old world charm. Lovely decor. Surprised we could open the window with no protective screen. Sabina and Roche both pleasant, personable and helpful. A nice stay very convenient to train station with great dining options."
"I love staying at this location. It’s in walking distance of the train station and shops. My room was comfortable and clean. I cannot wait to return soon. "
"The rooms are great. View is great. Many good places to dine nearby. Train station right by the hotel. If possible take train to Hamburg. If by car, park the car by the hotel and take public transportation around the city.
The breakfast buffet is a must have. It is superb.

"Excellent service and amenities. Plus the breakfast was great. The laundry was a bit extreme price wise given how much clothing was being washed and dried. "
