Due to hotels.com aggressive remarketing emails, I accidentally booked this hotel vs. the Holiday Inn we wanted for a business trip for 2 rooms. Immediately after booking (literally 2 minutes after), I requested a cancellation. They said they'd contact the hotel and request it. The hotel would not respond immediately.
After 2-3 days, they finally got in touch with the hotel front desk and told them they could cancel ONE room. Which makes no sense as to why we would want to instead just have one room, and not the other. In other words, not willing to provide a full refund.
Hotels.com asked to confirm if we wanted that, and made certain we did NOT. They said they'd keep the reservation intact.
When arriving at the hotel, they said they only had one reservation and the other was cancelled. Even though in our hotels.com account it still showed 2 rooms and paid for. It took nearly an hour for Hilton Greenville to accept that we had 2 rooms and allow us to check in.
The hotel itself wasn't great and obviously they are inflexible and not interested in return customers.
