we lost a rain jacket we thought couldn't get it back after almost 2 weeks. but surpprisingly in two days after we called, they successfully located the jacket and send it back to us. that's really good! I lost stuff in hotel before but never get it back. some hotel is really bad on this. they just don't care. but this hotel surprise me a lot! thank you very much!!!!!

Happy Wife, Happy Life!
My wife loved this place! She thought the rooms were well designed and crafted with quality...not the usual with a hotel. My take was that it was safe, comfortable, and clean. All the things that matter for me. I would add that across the street is the Wild Plum Cafe which has delicious pastries and breakfast. Get your free coffee at the hotel and your breakfast at the Wild Plum and be a happy camper!

Beautiful place, very comfortable stay
Beautiful hotel with gorgeous grounds. Staff were very helpful. Very convenient to all the places we wanted to see. Very centrally located and we walked to a different coffee place every morning. My husband and I indulged in a couple’s massage at the attached spa.

Convenient Pet Friendly Place in Monterey
We had a very good quick Christmas getaway. The location is terrific, very close to downtown and a short walk to Fisherman's wharf. We especially liked how pet friendly the hotel is, very welcoming and accommodating. We also had a very nice dinner at the restaurant. This is a great place to stay, especially if you're traveling with pets.

Quiet, roomy soothing stay.
Loved the walkable location to Downtown, and the wharf if you're feeling energetic. Had a huge room with gas fireplace. Parking is tight so anything bigger than a mid-size SUV will be challenging. We had our DO-NOT-DISTURB sign hanging and when we came by around 2pm we were surprised to see a lady servicing our room..!!!!

Lovely experience
Very cute place with a cozy fireplace in the room. It’s in the old part of Monterey. Took a short bicycle ride to the park and the Paris bakery. I would have swam in the heated if the weather was better, but it is rain season and December. Also, had tapas at the hotel restaurant and enjoyed watching the rain and fire on their partially covered heated outdoor patio while we ate. I would stay there again.

Great value for the Money
First time to Monterey and booked this hotel and overall it was a good stay. Value for the money is great as you are in walking distance of a lot of places near downtown. Customer service was excellent in all areas, their on site restaurant was great and food was delicious! Room smelled a bit musty and felt “cozy” but was overall clean and I appreciated the indoor fireplace. It’s a good hotel and I’d recommend it!

Unusual circumstances
I happened to stay when Monterey experienced a blackout after a wind storm so it’s difficult to comment because of the unusual circumstances. I was not offered any compensation. Housekeeping went into my room even though I had the ‘Privacy Please’ sign on my door. The fire alarm went off 3 times while I was there. I was sitting by the fireplace having coffee when an other guest’s dog got loose, jumped on me spilling the coffee all over my expensive sweater and the chair. Again, no offer of compensation of any kind.

Not so good
My experience was not so good because the transformer blew and the power went out. Also, the faucet in the shower cannot be regulated so it's constantly very hot water almost couldn't take a shower. The fan was so loud turning off and it woke me up quite a few times.

Relaxing weekend
Last minute trip with my niece. This hotel was centrally located & we walked a LOT. The front desk person was exceptionally kind & allowed us to enter the room early. We ate at their restaurant this morning before checking out. Many people had their dogs with them. A great stay!
