Good for a short stay
We had a two night stay from Friday-Sunday. Customer service was very good. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were very firm. I like when hotels offer two different types of pillows. The rooms need a bit of updating, especially the carpeting. We had a problem the first night with not having hot water. My husband went to the front office and maintenance came to our room immediately which we really appreciated. The biggest problem for us was the noise from the pool. All the rooms surround the pool so you can’t get away from the noise. We had to be up at 5am every morning and the yelling and screaming from the pool until almost midnight kept us up. It seems there is no one to enforce rules for use of the pool.

Motel, Not Hotel
The hotel was a great example of "you get what you pay for..." While I loved the authenticity of the hotel and its Tiki theme, this place is in need of some major upgrades to keep it going. The heated pool and powerful spa were great, and the highlight of the hotel. However, the rooms felt drab and dirty, and we arrived to no hot water and a leaking toilet. The walls had visible dirt and the carpet was torn in places. The front desk staff were really polite and nice, but the bartender in the poolside bar was quite nonchalant about service and seemed more interested in feeding himself since it took nearly 45 minutes to get our fried food as he clearly forgot we ordered it. Nonetheless, parking was easy, had a couple ok restaurants to eat at, but like everywhere else, all overpriced.

Rustic motel with tiki flair
The room was clean but weathered. The tub didn't drain and there wasn't hot water. The bed was fairly comfortable for a hotel. Wouldn't stay there again.

The grounds are tropical and beautiful. The room was comfortable but definitely due for an upgrade. The dresser drawers and doors were falling off. Also the mini fridge is one of the smallest mini fridges I’ve ever had at a hotel, so don’t come loaded with cold food/drinks. Also there is no microwave, so don’t bring things that need to be warmed up. Overall it wasn’t bad, but definitely lots of room for minor improvements that would benefit their guests. Especially in a town with soooo many hotel options.

Much different experience from the first time.
This is the email I wrote to the hotel. Hello My first time staying for the Paradise Road Show last year was such a wonderful experience. It was only one hotel over from the tropics to our event. My room was absolutely worthy of a Palm Springs getaway at a fair price. I even wrote ya guys an honest and 5 star review on yelp. I too run my own business and quality control is one the biggest qualities my fellow colleagues & especially myself take pride in. I have been to every state in this nation for work and have stayed at many hotels. But the room I got this year was pretty bad. *there were these 4 weird holes right above the mini fridge that just seemed outta place. *interesting odor when I first walked in so I just opened the bathroom window a bit to air it out. *there was a huge crack in the popcorn ceiling above my bed. *hair dryer was halfway ripped off the wall mount. *not even a half of TP on the roller. *the carpet was coming undone near the base boards. *there was loose tile where the carpet and tile meet in the bathroom and it cut me by the toe nail on it. *the wall paper was coming undone in certain areas. *there was no hot water *the turn knob of the shower was pretty much a tetanus shot waiting to happen. *i requested to not be by any stairs as I am a light sleeper & I was put directly in front of the stairs.

Best Hotel in Palm Springs
This was our second stay at the Caliente Tropics Hotel. We love the atmosphere, accommodations, tiki bar, pool and hot tub. It's affordable and family friendly. We have a lot of fun there!!

Decent stay
Pleasant stay at a quirky motel. I have been coming to Palm Springs for many years and have always wondered about this place. The lobby has a tiki vibe but the rooms, at least mine had a more traditional decor. No dresser to put your clothes, torn carpet a couple of things on ther floor that were not vacuumed up and a very noticeable paint peel on the ewall above the toilet. Definitely can use a facelift and more amenities

Property cool, rooms meh
Checked in and walked into a dirty room. Had to go back to the front desk twice for it to be cleaned. Also paid for a king and got a double queen. Took a couple of hours to finally get into our room. Tiki bar was great. Rooms were dated. I enjoyed the property other than the rooms.

The place was okay. For the money I paid I expected more. The shower handle and toilet seat needs repair in our room. But the staff were friendly and tried their best to accommodate.
