The Howard Johnson St. Augustine offers moderately priced, standard rooms in close proximity to outlet shops. Within walking distance, guests will be able to reach 170 shops. Guest will be able to reach the St. Augustine Regional Airport in approximately nine miles. Although there is not a full service restaurant inside the hotel, there are five dining destinations within walking distance. Nearby local restaurants include Cracker Barrel, Denny’s, Sonny’s Real Pit BBQ, and many fast food establishments. During warmer months, guests can cool off at the outdoor pool. Guests receive a complimentary continental breakfast with their room rate. The hotel allows pets, but restrictions and fees apply. If you plan to bring your pet, please contact the hotel before your arrival to confirm the current pet policy. There are 141 rooms on two floors. Did not have very hot water. The bed was very, very uncomfortable. The rooms were dirty.Had people hanging their clothes on the handrail, the sheet was wet. Upon checking in and it took forever to get somebody to the office to check-in.

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. They also offer long term leases and the residents were unruly and the police were called. We tried to check in at 9:30pm but the room still wasn’t cleaned. It smelled horrible so we bailed. I’d never go there ever again.

Room 156 smelled musty. Sheets big stain. This shouldnt be on hotels.booked two nights stayed one night. Were over charged... Scammed said the printer doesnt work so no receipt. I wouldnt suggest hotels.com or the hotel.

San Augustine deserve better
Only one poor employee on Thanksgiving Day. The room, which had two towels and a cockroach, had nothing else. A coffee service without a coffee maker, the floor so dirty that we had to clean it ourselves. The second day, an employee was sometimes there and grumpy with other guests (I smiled at her and she was nice to me). Maybe a bad weekend, but I prefer to try other hotels on my next trip.

Terrible experience, the worst hotel I have visited in 40 years, that should not be classified as a hotel, dirty rooms, stained sheets, bathroom with hair, terrible smell of dirt and humidity, disgusting common areas, it seems like people live there and dogs urinate on the door of your room, old and stained towels, in short, the worst experience of my life, in addition to arriving at 6 in the afternoon and my room was not ready, the people who are around the hotel have a lot to be desired, in short, if you do not want to have a very long description, do not go to this hotel

Horrible experience
Noone was available for check in, the phone number that was posted at the door went straight to voicemail. I was forced tk seek other accommodations. I like to be refunded for the inconvenience you've caused. This is unacceptable behavior and lack of hospitality.

It was absolutely disgusting to the point i checked out not even 30 mins aftet check in . The staff was friendly and helpfull but that was it. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

We had many issues with this hotel. They never cleaned our rooms, we stayed a week and not once did they change the sheets. Every time we needed assistance from the receptionist they were never to be found and the number to call nobody answered . We did new reservations for the following week and we didn’t get clean rooms We had to wait 3 hours after check in to be able to go in and they were still not clean. They also asked for deposit for rooms that weren’t clean . I do not recommend this hotel at all. We’ve never experience anything bad like this before.

The first room they gave us was horrible. There were hairs everywhere, including in the freezer, the toilet seat was broken, and the room was not cleaned very well at all. The second room still wasn't all that clean and even had a cigarette butt on top of the microwave. The beds are hard as a rock so my back was hurting and I kept tossing and turning all weekend. There were so many people who were living there and they would come out and smoke a cigarette and throw the butts everywhere. The property was disgusting and the pool area was not inviting at all. The people who lived there with dogs would not pick up the poop either. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT A GOOD VACATION!!!!
