Decent Family Stay
The room was clean and relatively modern. The bed was kind of hard. Staff was friendly and helpful. We felt safe during our stay. If you’re going to Carowinds, you can’t beat the location.

The ac kept turning on & off. Upon trying to fix it, it would continue to do so. The tv wouldn’t connect to the internet no matter how hard we tried. Overall, it wasn’t with the money nor service that comes with a King sized deluxe hotel. My advice would be to save your money & either get a double bed hotel room or a single bed hotel room. The King sized hotel is nearly identical to the standard sized hotel room

The property is older, dated and doesn't have good customer service. We liked the convenience to Carowinds, restaurants and stores. We were in town for Scarowinds and the Concert for the Carolinas so we didn't spend much time in the room. We wanted to get clean towels and no maid service. I walked down to give her the towels and there was a language barrier. She didn't understand that I wanted to exchange dirty towels for clean ones. She motioned for a guy to come help and he didn't understand either. He pulled out his phone to do a translation and she finally at least understood my request. I could give her the room number in Spanish and she said she would take them down. I never knew why she couldn't hand them to me then. When we went to leave the hotel for the concert, I told the front desk what happened and they assured that they would make sure towels were taken to my room. They said I could check back when I got back to the hotel if not. I explained that we would be back late and really didn't want to have to come back down for towels. Well of course the towels were not in our room and when we came in at 2:00 am there was no one at the front desk. The phone in the room didn't work so I had to use my cell phone and call the desk to see if anyone was even available to give me my towels. She finally answered and I had to walked down to get the towels. The one good thing was they did have a hot breakfast that was really good.

Nothing it wasn’t worth 400 dollars for 2 nights. The bathroom was gross with hair in the shower and in the sink and the only light that worked was the bathroom

Had roaches and uncleaned recepticles in our room. I took pictures and video of it and showed the downstairs attendant. They gave us a new room. We were already late getting to the hotel and after the bad room it was almost 12. We didnt see roaches in this room so got ready for bed. The tv in our new room barely works and is slow. Blacks out from time to time. The sink is clogged. It barely goes down. Thought it was getting cold at night and was messing with our C/heater and thought it was automated. But it was just broke. We tried the unit and pressed the power button on the wall control panel as well. It wouldnt start. Not running. No lights. But there was cold air blowing through it. We all were tired of dealing with this so just went to bed. Informed the attendant next morning who was on his phone sitting and not really caring much when I told them what happened. All around a terrible place to stay. I do not recommend. If had arrived earlier i would have not even slept there and went to another hotel.

Accomodating after being overbooked
It was a quick overnight after our park day at Carowinds. The hotel was overbooked. However, a ver nice woman at the front desk was able to accommodate our booking so we didn't have to drive home at midnight.

The restaurant downstairs was closed but other than that the staff was wonderful and friendly. My key didn’t work at all the whole time and I had to keep getting a new one and finding new ways to verify who I am. The area is crap and pretty unsafe but the hotel itself is locked up.

I made my reservation 3 weeks ahead of time and requested joining rooms because i was traveling with children who needed their own room. Request was not granted and the front desk had to spend about 10 minutes trying to find rooms close enough. Wait staff wouldn't make more food during breakfast, they ran out of milk and various juices as well.
