6/10 Okay

Good staff and good surroundings
Mohammad, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Excellent service and people. The age and history of the lodge is remarkable. The kitchen prepareds wonderful meals and very proud to do so. I would highly recommend the Gokona Lodge to all looking for a quiet out of the way place.

Wayne, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

I loved the rustic setting of the lodge and the staff was super nice and caring. I only had one issue with housekeeping cleaning out my entire room and they did not check who was staying for more than one night. This is a great option if you are road tripping.
Austin, 2-night trip

4/10 Poor

Was certainly not what was advertised. Very run down and dated.
Jammie, 2-night trip

6/10 Okay

Very good: staff, breakfast, nice bar Downside: old property… skeleton keys, creaky floors, and windows permanently shut with no ac…. And it’s a -long- way from anything you want to do
Mike, 2-night trip

10/10 Excellent

This adorable lodge had very comfortable beds and provided a fan to put in the window so that we could sleep cool, the way we like. The restaurant and the bar are both right next door, easy walking distance. It is private but also right on the way from Wrangell St Elias national Park. The surroundings are beautiful (there is a stunning view from one of the bathrooms) and we had a great time chatting with fellow travelers and local residents alike. They thought of everything, and even provided a hot breakfast with eggs sausage and muffins.
What you can see while you are pooping.
Sheila, 1-night trip

2/10 Terrible

There are so many things wrong about this place. Continental breakfast out at 700 nothing. No hairdryer. Who doesn’t have a hairdryer. Note that says to come over to the bar to check in. We waited there to find someone who would help us. We did eat at the bar and the food was good.
TRISH, 2-night trip

Michael, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Limited options in this area. We knew when we booked this that it was in a rural area and was very rustic. We had the 3 bedroom cabin which had a kitchen sink, mini fridge and microwave, 1 bathroom with a shower stall. The bedrooms were small- 1 had a wooden door, the other 2 just curtains in the doorways for privacy. No TV but a couple board games provided. Limited access to electrical outlets and we were unable to connect to the wifi. A hot breakfast was provided which was unexpected but very good. There is a bar and separate restaurant on site. The one night the restaurant was tied up with a community event so we drove about 20 min to a nearby town to eat. The next night, the restaurant was closed but food was served in the bar and our meals were good. Overall a decent stay- we enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as visiting with the staff, other guests and local folks.
Heidi, 2-night trip

Bert, 2-night trip

10/10 Excellent

It was unique because it was an old historical lodge. Everything was clean and staff was super nice.
John, 1-night trip

Beverly, 1-night trip

Perfect for Alaska Cabin experience- nice service and cooperative team.
1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

It is the oldest roadhouse in Alaska. The property is rustic, which adds character, and most spotlessly clean.
