We pre-booked three rooms at this hotel, which had a rating of 9.2, so we expected a good experience.
However, when we arrived around 9 p.m. on September 21, 2024, we were shocked to find the hotel completely dark, with no lights on anywhere. There was no one at the front desk, and we had to call the hotel to get assistance. Eventually, a lady showed up, knowing that we had three rooms booked.
Unfortunately, things didn’t improve. When I booked the hotel, breakfast was included, but upon arrival, she informed us it would cost an additional 18 euros per person (I still need to double-check this condition with Orbitz).
When we got to our rooms, they were clean, but the comforters were damp, which made the stay uncomfortable. I couldn’t fall asleep until very late.
The next morning, despite Orbitz listing the check-out time as 11 a.m., a gentleman knocked on my door at 10:15 a.m., speaking in German, which I couldn’t understand, but he sounded angry. Even after I showed him the check-out time listed on Orbitz, he insisted that check-out was at 10 a.m.
Overall, it was a terrible experience—damp comforters, no one at the front gate for check-in, the entire hotel being dark and spooky, and the overall discomfort made the stay really unpleasant.
