I booked The Clipperton as I understood that they were also a brewery and I wanted to check out the area. The brewery is in another location across town. The girls at check-in had limited English, which I’m used to. They didn’t seem to know anything about the brewery, but bottles of the beer were for sale in the cooler next to front desk. Nonetheless, they were very nice and got me into my room.
The rooms are modern and it seems to be a quite new hotel. The water in my upper story room took a few minutes to get warm and the pressure was okay, but not strong. The bed was a bit hard. The room had A/C and was clean. Wi-Fi was okay, nothing exceptional but did take a few minutes to get connected. There is a restaurant but the food was pretty generic, like many places in Veracruz. There’s really nothing nearby for breakfast or dinner. I walked 15 minutes to a busier area for breakfast each day and even further for dinner (planning for that). Likewise, because it’s off the main streets, you will have to walk around the block to hail a taxi next to the malecon.
The girls in the morning shift were in a bad mood both mornings. I thought it was just me and my lack of Spanish, but another guest brought up the same issue. I was happy to see the afternoon shift arrive. They were both nice and helpful. I probably wouldn’t stay again.
