I stayed at LIC Hotel in Long Island City for a recent trip to New York. The hotel is located in a mostly industrial area, but it’s close to some newer developments and just a short walk to the subway-only one stop from Manhattan, which made getting around incredibly easy. The room itself was basic but well equipped for the price I paid; nothing fancy, but it had everything I needed.
The immediate neighborhood isn’t the most vibrant, but there are some good dining options and essentials like a Trader Joe’s and Target nearby. The hotel offers a free breakfast and has helpful staff, but don’t expect luxury-think clean, simple, and functional.
Overall, I got a great deal and would only stay here again if I found a similar rate. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly place with excellent subway access to Manhattan, LIC Hotel is a practical choice.
