Amazing Hosts
We had such a wonderful welcome from Pablo and John and the service could not have been better. Great location only a few minutes walk to centre, lovely comfortable room and great breakfast. We would thoroughly recommend this place and will definitely be back if ever in the area.

We needed a stop on a cross country trip, and found this little gem. A lovely listed Georgian house with a very nice garden. The owner was very welcoming, the room was lovely and the breakfast delicious! We'll certainly go again.

We had a great overnight stay at The Lions and John & Pablo were excellent hosts and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. The room was spotless; the bed incredibly comfortable and the full English breakfast was superb. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Newark and a big thanks again to our hosts for making it such a pleasurable experience.

Stay at the Lions B&B
Wonderful little B&B run by John and Pablo. Beautiful room, huge bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Great breakfast and excellent hospitality. Short walk into Newark Town. Remains of the old castle on the river are worth a visit. Lovely river walk.

Very comfortable one night stay
A very clean, comfortable night’s stay. Clean, crisp white bedding, slept so well. It’s a Grade II listed Georgian building. Perfectly cooked breakfast with very personal touches. Loved the interior decor and furniture very tastefully done. Garden to the rear is stunning. Pablo and John are so hospitable and the attention to detail is very evident. Fantastic stay at The Lion. Hosts where magnificent...helped us with taxis and check-in logistics as we were attending a wedding in Kelham. Rooms were spacious and clean, and the breakfast was brilliant. Cannot praise them enough!

Flying visit
Pablo and John very friendly and attentive. Beautiful room, warm and cosy, comfortable bed, massive immaculate bathroom with gorgeous stain glass window. Breakfast freshly cooked to order. Fantastic service all round. Wished we could have stayed longer to appreciate it’s splendour. Looking to return in the summer to enjoy the gorgeous garden area.
