Wonderful experience. Very quiet and area felt safe. When we arrived we got a quick, helpful tour from Maureen around the complex. They provided beach equipment an umbrella, beach wagon, towels, chairs. The beach was a quick 5 min walk away. They have a grill and different seating areas around the property to enjoy. There is a restaurant and coffee shop across the street and a deli next door. The property has free bikes you can use during your stay. We stayed in the Birdhouse room. Which was perfect for our stay. It was a nice, quiet, clean place. We would happily stay again!

The owner and property are top notch, they have free parking, bicycles, beach chairs and a wagon. It was just too soon to vacation there, from Hurricane Ian. Everything was destroyed and nothing was open, had to leave Island to do anything. But our stay was enjoyable, very peaceful.

The room was spacious and well equipped. When we checked in, the owner greeted us, and he was incredibly friendly and helpful. He was also prepared with recommendations on activities, places to eat, etc. In addition to the wonderful room, the property had bicycles and beach equipment available for guests to use. The property was also located conveniently close to the beach, shopping, and plenty of restaurants. We could not have been more pleased with our stay and hope to return!

Tarpon Tale Inn is a hidden treasure! If you want a quiet getaway on Sanibel Island with quick access to the beach, a private patio and grill, access to bicycles, an outdoor hot/cold shower, a shell washing station, and beach chairs/umbrella/wagon - this is it! The owner, Joe, has an eye for detail and it shows throughout your stay. I wanted a beach experience and that’s exactly what I got at Tarpon Tale Inn. Other than to explore (Blind Pass, Bowman Beach, Turner Beach and Captiva) the island and pick up a few things at Jerry’s, I had no need to drive. Wickie’s and Tuttle’s are directly across the street, and a deli place is next door - the Sanibel lighthouse is a .6 mile bike ride and beach access is just around the corner is across the street. The king room with full kitchen was nicely equipped and the bed was incredibly comfy. So clean! The “no-seeums” were present and accounted for, mostly at dusk and dawn, not a Tarpon Tale Inn issue because they were everywhere on the island. Guests are offered use of bug spray in the office as a shared option. The Tarpon Tale has a quaint beach vibe I know you will love!

Love this place! So clean, comfy, well-themed, biked to Lighthouse Beach, used cart to haul excellent quality beach chair, umbrella (all come with room!) , etc to walk under five minutes to private beach, across the street is Tuttles and EmOcean, next door is Lighthouse Surf Shop- all wonderful! The Birdcage Room is quirky, a step UP into the bathroom, a high mattress but worth the climb- the most comfortable mattress, ever! Sanibel is strong- has returned to life and needs YOU! Do have a Hawaiian pizza from Island Pizza- so delicious!

Excellent first time and not last time for certain. Accommodations were excellent, everything you need to stay comfortably with a fully equipped kitchen, large screen TV, cable TV, wifi, comfortable king bed in my unit, reclining sofa, supplied beach chairs, cart, beach towels, outside bbq grill, literary everything you need to stay here for weeks (I wished).only srayed for the night,this time. Joe the owner is great and always available if and when needed. This establishment is definitely a great place to spend time on the island. About a 5 min walk down to the beach.

A One Of A Kind Sanibel Gem!!

The Tarpon Tale Inn is a unique and charming place to stay while on Sanibel Island. It has been beautifully and lovingly restored after Hurricane Ian, and is so cute, comfortable and clean! Every meticulous detail has been attended to by the owner, Joe, who is so friendly and exceptionally accommodating! The grounds and outdoor ambiance of the inn’s setting are welcoming and lovely. Nestled among palm trees and gorgeous tropical plantings, one can spend a pleasant afternoon outside simply relaxing on the double swing, the hammock, or on your own private patio! Bicycles for exploring the island via its incredible bike trails, along with all the beach equipment you could possibly need are included in your stay. The short walk to Sanibel’s gorgeous beaches makes The Tarpon Tale Inn’s location just perfect for your island paradise getaway. This darling property on amazing Sanibel Island is not to be missed!

As with most places on Sanibel, this is a family-run small business and they are eager to please. This was the perfect location for our family to call home for a week, was right next door to a family-run convenience store, across the street from ice cream, dining & shopping, and on the main thoroughfare to get to everything else on the island via car. I didn't take pics of it because honestly, that's why you go to Sanibel, to do nothing other than go to the beach, collect cool sea shells, and shop. The kitchen had everything you could need and a full-size fridge was handy for the grocery store items on the non-restaurant nights. It was a truly memorable, enjoyable and comfortable home for a week and we hope to be able to go again next year!

This place was beautiful and very accommodating. It was a short walk or bike ride to the beach. The room had everything we needed and beach chairs, beach cart and bicycles were provided. It was right across from a coffee and ice cream shop and a nice restaurant and a gift shop. I will definitely be back to visit.

Enjoy Sanibel Beach!

Tarpon Tale Inn is conveniently located on east end of Sanibel Island. The Inn is right across the street from a really good restaurant (loved the coffee) and Magic Bus Ice Cream shop. The bed was very comfortable. Just need to be cautious of the step up into the bathroom! The hosts were very flexible! Proximity to beach - excellent (2 blocks) Property provides bikes, beach towels, beach chairs and umbrella!!
