Staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a small issue with our original room and we were immediately moved. We loved the breakfast that was included with our stay. A lovely idea of sit down breakfast and order from a menu. Facility was very clean. Loved the historic nature of the hotel.

Service Great, But Rooms Need Improvement
Overall, my stay was just okay, but the customer service exceeded expectations. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and made a real effort to ensure we had a pleasant experience. The location was central to everything, which was very convenient. However, parking was definitely problematic. There were only two spots in front of the hotel, and street parking was limited. It’s also worth noting that the hotel is located on a hill, which could be a challenge for some. Unfortunately, the rooms were outdated and had several issues. We had to switch rooms due to a leaking pipe in the bathroom, and the first room was placed near the kitchen, where we were woken up early by staff sitting outside our window chatting. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, which helped make up for some of the other issues. The second room was smaller, but it also had its own set of problems, including a dripping A/C. Breakfast was okay—standard offerings like eggs, bagels, pancakes, toast, and breakfast meats. There were three options offerings, but you could only choose one, which felt a bit limiting. I was also surprised that no fruit was provided, and I would have liked to see more local options available. While the service and location were great, the condition of the rooms and parking situation need improvement.

Excellent
Bunker Hill was an amazing place to experience the culture and a local food. All the locals were very friendly helpful. All the staff had polite faces the best part it was the breakfast. The breakfast was delicious which included a beautiful orange passionfruit drink that was out of this world I traveled with my son and I felt safe the whole time I was there the building is secure with cameras gates are lacked at a certain time in front so no one just walk in so that was number one for safety for me. I absolutely would recommend this for someone who wants to explore and really be able to talk to the locals and have really good food and learn history. We were able to visit the top three beaches the Beach the Beach and we went to Saint John’s for the day and were were able to experience trunk Bay. Me and my son really enjoyed the outside pool area. It was clean just relaxing with a nice breeze clean through. I feel like we got best of both worlds. We got to experience the local culture and then we also got to go off and take out our own adventures which included zip lining snorkeling Beaches. I really rate the service of five. I rate the food above five the cleanliness I rate a five. The only downfall was if you can’t climb stairs and be mindful of that because it was all climbing stairs, which I had no problem we love, climbing the stairs and getting in our loved climbing. And if you’re bringing your own vehicle or renting a car, the space is very limited for parking

Love this place!
Great place to stay. Staff was very friendly. The free breakfast was excellent and I had the Jerk wings for dinner which were great too! Room was clean and comfortable. Pools were very clean. The location to the shopping and restaurant district was ideal, only a couple of blocks. Parking is limited and the street in front is one way but changes direction from 4 - 6 p.m. which is a bit confusing. Nice view from the balcony.

I had a great eight day stay.
The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a bit run down and the water pressure is not good. The parking is sparce. The pool and dining area have beautiful views. The provided breakfast is very good. It is very close to shopping, great resturants and the jewelry district. The price is right and you get great value.

Our stay was very nice. It was clean and neat with a friendly staff. The only down was the hot water wasn't very hot for a shower. It was warm enough if you used just the hot water.

The restaurant was quite excellent - don't try to take a hot shower, however. Things seem to be in a bit of dis-repair - ie: no wi-fi etc. Nice front desk service - well located.

I do not recommend it. Very bad conditions, too many stairs, going up and down from the 4th floor was an abuse, especially with suitcases. There are stairs throughout the building and for everything, which is excessive, and they do not have elevators. The room was in bad conditions, the shower was broken and dripped every night, the toilet seat was loose and made a horrible noise when flushing. They tried to overcharge me for dinner at the hotel restaurant, the menu stated one price and on the bill they wanted to overcharge me. Be very careful, people smoke drugs around the building. The only redeeming feature is the woman at the reception who was kind and that we were located quite close to the center. This place needs urgent repairs and better accessibility without excessive stairs for customers. The price of the food at the restaurant was also exorbitant, in general I would recommend going on a cruise to the Virgin Islands instead of staying locally, but if you want to stay there for a few days, look for a hotel with better conditions than this one.

Location!!!

Older boutique hotel right in the heart of Charlotte Amalie. The place is hillside with minimal parking. It’s a shame that this property has soooo much potential and could be renovated into a charming oasis. Instead, it’s moldy, awful beds, toilet not working, and shabby throughout- like stepping back to a 1972 Motel 6 that needed repairs. We literally had to turn the water on/off at the valve to flush otherwise it leaked and ran. It was turned off when we arrived, so they knew. For some reason this place insists on making and copying a copy of your ID. we only stayed one night before our return flight. I asked for the copy back and they refused. There is no valid reason to keep a copy. I am beyond frustrated. Restaurant onsite. Subpar food at ridiculous prices with auto gratuity added. If you need to sleep cheap for a night, you might be able to tolerate it. I will never return to this dump.

Good experience overall
As a black female solo traveller, I felt safe when I stayed at this hotel. At the same time, it is a bit old. My bedroom was very clean, but the bathroom could have been cleaner. I would recommend it for a night or two, but no longer. The staff running the business were very kind and helpful. It is a family-run hotel. Breakfast was fantastic. I would recommend it as a quick stop.
