The property was spotlessly clean and comfortable and a beautiful garden, Neil was able to cater for my fussy Husband at dinner and B/fast was ample and cooked fresh with plenty of variety, we wouldn't hesitate to return if in the area again.

Brilliant Guesthouse
Having stayed at Sampson Barton several times over the last 10 years I can highly recommend this guesthouse. A warm welcome with a cream tea, a clean comfortable room and delicious food. This is a lovely part of North Devon with views from the guest house of fields and sheep. A nice relaxing break. I don’t think Bev & Neil have seen the last of us.

Very welcoming host. Farmhouse is gorgeous, well kept and spotlessly clean. Rooms are comfortable with modern bathrooms. Breakfast was lovely, the eggs are from their own chickens and I have never seen deeper orange yolks!!!

relaxing!
My fiancé and I stayed at the Sampson Barton Guest House for a wedding, the location was perfect and we found our stay very relaxing. Our hosts were fantastic and catered to our vegetarian needs for breakfast. We stayed in the Basil room which was big, light and clean! Can not recommend this place enough!

Excellent
Looked for a Guest house rather than hotel for a business trip arriving on a Sunday. Received excellent communication from Bev prior to arrival and received a warm welcome once the pheasants on the road had been avoided. The location is a little out of the way so nice and quiet. That doesn't detract from the supreme service, excellent food and brilliant all round experience. Thank You Bev and Nick - brilliant and highly recommended

Very welcoming
Lovely property, Bev and Neil are very welcoming and we enjoyed an lovely cream tea while we waited for our room. The bedroom was very clean, comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The evening meal was excellent and as we were leaving early the next morning it was no problem for Bev and Neil to provide us with breakfast before we left. Would certainly stay here again.

Lovely country bed and breakfast
Bev is a lovely, kind, and warm host. The cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch after hours in the car. The breakfast consisted of the most gorgeous bright yellow yolks from the hens just outside. Cooked to order, tasty, fresh, and abundant. We would definitely stay again and will most certainly recommend Sampson Barton to our friends and family.

Great place to stay for that relaxing break.
On arrival, Neil served up a lovely Devon cream tea for us. I explained to Neil that i could not get a signal on my phone for directions, and with that he produced his own personal sat nav for me to use, a wonderful personal touch. Our room, the superior king room, was immaculate and spotlessly clean including the en-suite. Breakfast was superb with fresh eggs from Neil and Bev's own hens. We had been awoken by the lambs in the nearby fields, and the location is so quiet and peaceful, perfect for that relaxing getaway. The living room was relaxing and inviting, with a bar in the corner if you need a drink. We also met Poppy the cat and Freddie the dog, both friendly and beautiful pets that are part of the family. All in all, a wonderful 3 night stay, and highly recommended. I promise you will not be disappointed. Away from the hotel, there are many places to explore, and i clocked up an extra 300 miles, but all worth it.
