It seems the hotel is short staffed. Many times, if you need assistance from the front desk, you have to go to the bar or restaurant to get help. Our phone in the room was not working (we can answer but can't call out) and the support staff will come the next day to fix it (by then, we have checked out).

When we walked in the welcome was lovely the setting was nice and clean. Headed to the room was easy to follow and rooms were nicely kept and clean. Headed in to the bistro for dinner handed 2 menus that were different. Then went to the bar were 2 bar staffed looked at us without a word then walked away till another person can to take our order. Who was also confused on the menu as we were didnt know there was pre-made cocktails in can to order. Went to get water and the glasses were hot and unpolished and some were dirty .got the good which was 10/10 couldnt fault then sat with the dirty plate for 40min till we left so to sum it up birsti serive was poor which let down the standard and beauty for which we paid for.

Nice stay at the Panorama Hotel
We had a good stay. We werent able to check in early, so we had to come back couple of hours later. Room was big and bed super comfortable. Our room was right by the stairs and it was a bit noisy. Floors quite creeky. A Food in restaurant was good. Nice stay.

Good for a stopover
We booked here a bit last minute after some changes to our plans. It's an odd venue - it seems quite new and very well laid out, rooms are spacious and comfortable, rooms fittings all great - and yet there seems very little else going on in St Helens. I can only assume a lot of travellers use the town as a break on longer trips. It certainly wasn't busy while we visited mid January. Restaurant and bar has a huge deck with nice views across the water and wetlands (we had warm sunny weather). Food on offer was typical bistro food, and breakfast was a little underwhelming but ok. Apart from the small town centre, you can't walk anywhere from here; we had to drive to swimmable beaches or any bushwalking areas.

Couples getaway
Spacious room & bathroom but the shower cubicle is very small, however I’m told all bathrooms will be updated and the shower recess will be bigger, tv screens are to small to watch comfortably from bed or chairs, if in bed larger pillows or extra ones in the room to support your back whilst watching tv. The food is quite good & the views are great as is the location.

Weekend in St Helens
Booked for two night back in November and was disappointed to be given the accessible room, which was near reception end and foot traffic going past was noisy and room smelt musty and the bed felt like were were sleeping on the bed base where as my sisters room the bed was good.

Clean but dated.
Great location and decent rooms but very dated. The shower was the smallest and most awkward I’ve ever experienced with a ridiculously large shower head. I struggled to fit inside and I’m 65kg. A massive bath though. I believe it has new owners so I’m sure a Reno is on the cards. The bathrooms need to be updated but the rooms are spacious and only need a spruce to bring them into the 21st century. Good location and really good food in the restaurant.

Bed was so uncomfortable. Could feel the springs poking into me. We took 2 rooms with 2 double beds each. All 4 beds were the same. Hotel seem to have done some aesthetic updates but beds were left out of it.
