Inappropriate neighborhood
We loved this old authentic beautiful charming hotel! Beautiful neighborhood close to the beach but unfortunately we will not be returning. Im not sure how to word this but the neighborhood is inappropriate for children and me and my wife . It is the epicenter for homosexuality in Puerto Vallarta. There were men barely clothed directly outside the hotel offering services. We spent the first 3 nights of our month long trip here, fortunately we moved 10 minutes north to the Loft Hotel on the Malecon which is a completely different vibe. I dont think I understood the area "Romantica Zone" correctly.

Great Staff and Service, not great wifi
The staff here were very sweet and helpful and the room was wonderful for what it was. My only complaint was that the wifi in my room was not great at all, I had to stand in the entrance doorway to get any sort of signal, which sounds ok, but eventually gets very uncomfortable. Everything was perfect otherwise.

The place to stay
My first time staying at Posada de Roger was around 1983. It's a quaint little authentic Mexican hotel right in the middle of Zona Romantica. Nothing fancy but you aren't coming to hang out at your hotel are you? beds are comfy, pretty quiet depending on where you room is. This was my 5th time staying there.

Can't go wrong with Posada de Roger
I've been coming here on and off for years The staff is always friendly and helpful, and they've done a couple of minor upgrades without sacrificing atmosphere. It's centrally located, and within walking distance of anything in the Zona Romantica. Side note: the TV lost signal one day (one doesn't need it much) and the maintenance guy and the cable guys took care of it.

Small but very nice.
Room is small but clean and comfortable. Wish they had refrigerator in room. Super kind service, daily maid service in morning so my room was clean when I got back from working out. Restaurant adjacent was great for breakfast. Location is perfectly located in RZ. Everything is walkable.

The place was really great. The location was awesome and the staff was excellent. The only downside was that the beds were that comfortable. One of them was a little springy and uneven and overall probably just a bit worn out.

Four Days of Fun in Viejo Vallarta
This hotel is in the ideal Viejo Vallarta location! It is an older building, with small rooms and few amenities. There were only two outlets in the room and no refrigerator for cold water storage. The mattress was hard, but I like it that way. My only real complaint about the room was the AC unit's constant clicking sound (louver oscillation). The restaurant offers a fantastic breakfast! The staff was friendly and the housekeeping was thorough.

The lobby was beautiful but the room airconditioning was malfunctioning and very uncomfortable. Our friends also stayed and had issues with their door not locking and air conditioning as well. The noise from the street was loud. And they upcharged for a number of things like having a fridge, etc. The best part was the great location and easy walkability.

It was located downtown in romantic district. Easy access to the Malecon, and nice restaurants. It did not have A/C but only a ceiling fan, so it was hot inside the room at night.
