Fabulous place to stay.
We were in the newer part of the hotel -- possibly a new building, or a refurbished old one -- but it had been thoughtfully designed and beautifully put together. The walkway to get there went outside, and was only partially covered -- so you might get wet in the rain, although I noticed a stack of umbrellas at reception!
Everything else was amazing. Breakfast was fantastic and included three huge blocks of Belgian chocolate and several bottles of fizz, if you wanted to indulge that early! The service was top-notch. The courtyard (through which the walkway passed) was astonishingly quiet, considering the hotel is slap bang in the middle of the city -- one couldn't fault the location.
The restaurant was on the expensive side, but then there were loads of alternatives in the immediate vicinity. And I guess, given the quality of the hotel, you'd expect the restaurant to be dear. But the hotel itself -- well, the two of us stayed there for £190 a night which included breakfast (and we paid using Tesco vouchers). That, to my mind, is pretty decent value for what we got.
