Lovely place, good value
Service was generally very slow. It felt understaffed and disorganised. Prosecco to the room was forgotten, dinner service was very slow, breakfast was disorganised. I paid extra for breakfast but could have just walked in without being checked. The staff struggled to cope with replenishing the food. They didn’t have much chance!

Wild horses couldn’t drag me back there
From a rather unhelpful check in, vague directions to find my room actually now wish I hadn’t found it, to only getting two hours sleep due to noise and another resident trying their key in the lock at 2 am, to the receptionist in the morning saying she was sorry and understood how worrying that must of been for a solo female, offering another room in the same block but paying extra! I decided to cut my losses I booked another room in a chain hotel for my second night. Wild horses couldn’t drag me back to the New Place - absolutely dreadful

Dine elsewhere!
The room was clean and comfortable with a good sized bed and bathroom. The pool, hot tub and sauna were quite small and some guests thought it appropriate to wear outdoor shoes in wet areas resulting in dirty floors. We had dinner in the main restaurant and had to wait over 90 minutes for our food - we’re glad we didn’t have a 3-course meal as I’m not sure there are enough hours in the day! The food was nice but the portion very small for the price and we were left very, very hungry. Other tables seemed to have food arrive sporadically! The table linen left white fluff all over clothes which other guests had also complained about. Breakfast was pleasant but very disorganised; tea had to be ordered when it could have easily been available to be self service by the coffee machines. Too few staff to cope with the demand and not enough organisation. Overall, it was fine but the experience was let down by the restaurant and lack of staff. Expectations were just not met for such a lovely property.

It was OK
Luxurious manor house at the entrance but the accommodation is almost military style blocks away from the main building. Parking was a lottery but available. Take a torch as there is insufficient external lighting. Rooms were okay but could hear the occupant in the next room so not great.

Great getaway👌
I had a wonderful stay at New Place Hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly, making the whole experience very welcoming. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The surroundings are beautiful, offering a peaceful and scenic environment. Highly recommended for a tranquil getaway.

Beautiful setting, very relaxed.
Beautiful location with really friendly staff. We were put in a disabled room although we didn’t need it. Brilliant space for someone who is disabled. Only fault was the shower heads needed a good clean so that you got water from all the holes. The taps on the shower were stiff & were not suitable for someone who suffers with any sort of dexterity issues. I fed this back on check out and she made a note. We had dinner in the bar & breakfast. Food was lovely. Very popular place with the locals rooms for hire for parties too. We used the pool it was perfect for what we wanted, little dated compared to the rest of the complex but lovely to have.

Probably wouldn't stay again.
Not the best stay. The accommodation block lacked privacy, with other guests walking past the full length patio doors to the bedroom, the curtains had to be drawn all day. The shower rail would come away from the wall. Room service delivered the wrong food order. On the plus side, good location for our needs.

Shocking service
We went in the bar for pre dinner drinks and tried to pay on the room and were informed this is not possible which was a shame and not usual for this type of hotel. Time for dinner was prebooked and we arrived and we’re shown to our table. Food was lovely but whole meal was spoilt at the end when my husband ordered a liquer coffee. After chasing 3 times and 45 mins we were informed they couldn’t do it. Shame and a waste of our time and also a shame again that bill could not go on the room. We left feeling very disappointed.
