제가 평생 묵었던 호텔 중 최악의 숙소입니다. 가격 대비 룸 컨디션이 너무 안좋았습니다. 모텔만도 못합니다. 원래 예약했던 숙소에 예약이 제대로 진행되지 않아서 급하게 찾은 숙소였기 때문에 큰 기대가 없었습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 더러운 침대 시트, 더러운 룸, 화장실 컨디션, 갑갑하고 긴 복도, 심지어 계단으로 한참 걸어가야하는 동선 문제 등으로 하루라도 빨리 집에 가고 싶었습니다. 만약 불이라도 나면 이 호텔 방에서는 탈출도 못하고 갇혀 죽을수도 있겠다 싶었습니다. 가장 최악은 외출시 룸 클리닝 요청 팻말을 걸고 나갔음에도 청소가 이뤄지지 않았고, 심지어 방을 나설 때 청소하시는 분과 마주쳤고 인사를 했음에도 불구하고 룸 클리닝이 이뤄지지 않았다는게 굉장히 불쾌했습니다.

Great little hotel
Hotel is really well situated near bus stops for further afield and within walking distance of the castle etc. Rooms were lovely - the gift basket with Irn Bru and Tunnocks, along with candy canes as its close to Christmas, was a lovely touch. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Pub next door is handy for breakfast. Can be a little rowdy at kicking out time, but that's to be expected and didn't offend us. All in all a quirky little place but has absolutely everything you need. I will definitely stay here again if I am ever in Edinburgh again

Centrally placed hotel
Grassmarket hotel is in a great location for sightseeing. With many sights within walking distance, you are well situated to explore Edinburgh on foot. Right next door are some of the fancier "Harry Potter" shops as well as several cafes, restaurants and other sights. The hotel itself is snuck in on the corner of a property, and part of the hotel is right on top of a pub. Good news if you're up for a pint, not so good news if quiet is a big priority for you. We spent two nights at the hotel for a family weekend, and we certainly had no problem sleeping. Rooms are a bit worn, but were clean enough. Bathroom privacy leaves something to be desired- the door hardly blocks noice at all. Beds, linen and furniture all in good condition. Staff are absolutely delightful. Helpful and attentive no matter the hour. We were adviced that we'd have to hang a sign out for room cleaning, which we naturally forgot. To our delight we still found our room cleaned and towels changed when we returned from a day out. Grassmarket is a good hotel if you don't mind a bit of noice (experienced city dwellers won't mind), want easy access to most of the sights in Edinburgh, or if you're after a bit of nightlife. Should be perfect if you're visiting friends at the university.

Rummet var varmt och skönt, personalen väldigt hjälpsam och löste allt som behövdes.Lätt att beställa upp mat på rummet, beställa taxi till flyget m.m. Bra med rum högre upp i huset då de har pub med live-musik varje kväll. Vårt lilla rum hade ett öppningsbart fönster ut mot innergården.

We booked this hotel because it looked like a funky, unique place right in the heart of the tourist area of Ediburgh. The location was spectacular, but the hotel was a disappointment. The room we booked was one of the largest options they offer, but it was tiny. I don't mean the usual "Americans surprised by size of European hotel rooms" tiny - I mean objectively tiny. It was so small, the only place we could open our suitcases fully was on the bed. Unfortunately, because the floors were so filthy, that made the bed dirty. We booked for one night, but then decided to add a second night before checking in - big mistake. We were stuck here for two nights and were very disappointed. The promised "comic book wallpaper" had been painted over (poorly because it was scratched off in places). The wall map with fun magnets to plan your trip in your room was there, but there were no magnets. Also, we had wifi on our first night, but it was completely out for the rest of our stay. We asked to borrow one of their chromecasts, but they were never available (wouldn't have been able to use it without wifi anyway, I guess). The hotel was a maze - getting to the room was like a Willy Wonka fever dream. The only positive is the location - that is stellar, but it doesn't make up for all the downsides - especially at this price point. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. (Unless you're a wealthy teenager who is there to drink and party all night and can pass out anywhere.)

The Grassmarket Hotel was convenient, clean and the staff were super helpful. They stored my luggage for me, as I arrived mid-morning. My room was small, but the bathroom was a great size and quite comfortable. I had no problems getting my luggage up to my room and there was no noise from the pub below. It was very convenient to the Royal Mile, the Castle, Holyrood, terrific restaurants, and everything else I wanted to see. As a woman who was traveling solo, I felt safe and absolutely enjoyed my stay!
