Lots to love at Melia Cozumel

Melia is one of the best all inclusives in Cozumel. Medium size, good beach access and well designed. Friendly and efficient staff, comfy rooms. Top flight liquor and bar drinks. The only flaw is that buffet meals are repetitive and ultimately boring. Best is breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, to-order omelettes, baked goods. For dinner, I would recommend making reservations for the 3 specialty restaurants, no extra charge, which are more interesting, or going the short distance by car or foot to "the Lobster House". Another option is taking a taxi into town where there are many good restaurants. I would return to Melia happily.

Nice resort

We stayed Monday-Friday, and we really enjoyed our time at the Meliá. They furnished all food and drinks for the entire trip all included. There was always something to eat or drink anytime we wanted. The swimming pool was really nice, couldn’t really ask for anything better for the price. Would recommend

The hotel's location is inconvenient, far from local attractions. Cost of taxi to downtown is $20, one way. The best days of the rooms are already behind them, and the operational damage is very visible. The hotel beach is OK but the water is cloudy and full of seaweed. The food is monotonous and average. All drinks taste the same and are super sweet. The compensation is the hotel service, which tries their best and is of a high standard

While we enjoyed our stay, our room was right on the beach, the beach was covered in seaweed and plastics trash. This could be managed by having an early morning crew clean up and maintained during the day. It was three days before the first clean up attempt. The water was murky which seems to be the norm rather than the exception. We are enthusiastic swimmers so we would walk to the beach next door for a swim in clear water. The adults only pool was spotless but too cold to use an option so always empty. The food options are limited in the buffet but the Fish House and Mole restaurants are very good. Shout outs to Jorge in the buffet, with such a cheerful disposition, Hector in the Level, for organizing the restaurants for us, and Geraldo at the Level towel shack for exceptional interactions and beach service. Evanelly is also an exceptional staff member.

Lots of beach area. Our third trip. Food not as good as before. But the Taco house did not disappoint. Due to so many travelers, I would like to see the hotel encase pillows and all mattresses. This keeps the mattress clean and bug free (although we didn’t see any bed bugs- I checked). My hubby says they need a sports bar. Miquel, Alfonso, Ana and Diego are worthy of mention. Overall a good experience and worth staying there.

Before we arrived at the hotel, we received a form to fill out with all our details. A few days before our arrival, we were required to check in online to avoid waiting at the hotel. However, on the day of our arrival, we still had to wait about half an hour to check in again. In the meantime, I was browsing a shop in the hotel and accidentally dropped a magnet, which I had to pay for—it cost around 260 pesos. There was no elevator. While the view from our ocean-view room was nice, the room itself could have been cleaner. We managed, but the bedsheets were too thin, and we could see the mattress, which wasn’t very clean. There was no air conditioning, only a fan, which caused discomfort. The noise from the fan was unbearable—it hurt my ears and gave me a headache! I couldn’t sleep at all because of the noise, but when I turned it off, it was too hot. I ended up leaving it on for the entire week, and the temperature never went below 25°C. It was truly an unpleasant stay. The food was served in an open buffet. Since we don’t eat meat, it was disturbing to see that the same utensils were used for both meat and non-meat items. For example, they were cooking meat and then using the same spatula to serve pasta.

The staff are amazing, always there to make your stay the best it can be. The hotel is old but is clean and taken care of. They clean the beach each morning, but the water is very murky, not the hotels fault but not pleasant to swim in, need to walk to the neighboring hotel's beach. We booked the Level and felt that it was well worth it.

el lugar podria estar mucho mejor, la habitacion que yo me quede esta vieja y muy descuidada para el precio que pague desde las sabanas hasta el a/c y el baño. Muy baja calidad que triste yo no recomiendo el lugar.
