Overpriced and dated
We booked a night to stay at a castle during our trip to Scotland. We were placed in a room on the main floor which was towards the end of a hallway. The room was very musty of which the stench stuck to our clothes even after we left. For the amount we paid, we expected a bit more. The breakfast was better than expected and the staff in the breakfast area were very friendly.

Turret suite
Really enjoyed our two-night stay in one of the turret suites. The hotel was still beautifully decorated for Christmas but very peaceful being a few days after Hogmanay. Overall condition of the building is excellent, especially given its age and historic nature, which must make it a real challenge to maintain. Our room, bathroom and the turret lounge above were very clean and well presented. Excellent comfy super-king bed. Public rooms were lovely - warm and welcoming. Swimming pool area was very clean and a pleasure to use.

As good as it gets.
Very relaxed, comfortable hotel with professional and friendly staff. The very spacious lounges, restaurant and bar are proper Scottish ‘auld world’ in decor and furnishings. Magnificent.

Not worth it😟
Unfortunately we were not impressed with anything on the inside of this property. The location and the outside was stunning. But lacking in so much on the inside. No service to help with luggage, so much was outdated. I'm good with antique and keeping with the style being a palace but that is not what this place looks like. Looks a bit sheaply designed if you could say designed. The restaurant and food was mediocre at best. We sad with everything. Will it be returning.

Bit disappointing and underwhelming for the price
Underwhelming for a £250 per night B&B rate. Lovely looking hotel and gardens but room was tired and dated for this price. Small, tired bathroom. Service was bang average again for the price and although staff ok, they could have made a bit more effort considering the price we were being charged. If I had paid £100 for room I probably would have been happier with things. Not the cleanest place with windows and mirrors dirty around hotel. Breakfast was cold and serving filtered coffee - no excuse for not having a decent self serve coffee machine these days. Our room was hotter than the sauna in the spa area and we had to keep the windows open. All a bit disappointing really.

Our room was very spacious but also very old fashioned the work of the staff is excellent and hard working had a issue when we first arrived because we where 15 minutes early but when we did check in the lady was very professional the price of drinks are disgraceful but we did have a nice time thank you

Fantastic place definitely recommend
It was amazing would stay again. Staff looked after us especially me as a wheelchair user. Breakfast was in a room with steps going into it. My route was by the basement got some fantastic info from the staff about what the hotel was previously used for. They have a museum which was not open when we went. But staff filled us in with intresting knowledge.

Was good, liked it. Miles better than the Dunalastair hotel suites!!! Dunalastair Hotel Suites was where we were booked to stay. Turned out to be a scam - no better than a travel lodge - uncaring unhelpful dishonest staff! You have been warned! Glad myself and my family left 10 min after realising what we had got ourselves into and stayed at the Atholl Palace instead!
