Very disappointing due to poor management
Had a good experience with Royal Solaris in Cabo, so was very surprised at the much poorer experience (and treatment) in Cancun. -Hotel was overbooked, so we were shipped off to GR Solaris, with room configurations different from and inferior to what we had booked. Managed to change one room eventually to our preferred configuration, however. -No wifi available in rooms; even the telephones didn't work in 2 of the 4 rooms we stayed in. -Due to room change, and despite being specifically assured that this wouldn't happen, our dinner reservations were deleted from the system. Mgmt. refused to help, and from their POV, we were just SOL even though it was our only chance at eating at one of the premium restaurants. -Mgmt. was consistently unhelpful and always deflected blame upon us rather than owning any portion of responsibility and trying to rectify the problem. -The loudspeakers all around the property were on constantly, and the pool area was on full blast for about 10 hours per day. Noise is fine (and expected), but there was no place to escape to for even a moment of peace. Even after guests were shooed from the pools at 8, the near-empty plaza was blasted at midday-level volume for another hour or two. -Three of five of us got tourista, including one who didn't leave the compound during the stay. The positive notes: most of the staff was lovely, and the food was pretty good for an all-inclusive. But mgmt. made this a very frustrating stay. Done with Solaris.

I have sent many emails to Expedia and to the property itself. I had a medical emergency and my flight was diverted to Orlando causing me to miss my stay. When I contacted Expedia and the resort to ask about a refund or a credit I was bounced around demanding documentation that was then rejected. Another person would ask and the say the resort manager wanted it. Ultimately I was not given any refund, credit or any compensation. My daughter who was with me when this happens immediately started contacting people before our check in time. I continued throughout the next few days and not even a portion of the stay was able to be canceled or credited. This was out of my control and very poor service. I was really looking forward to coming when I was able to be cleared by my doctor but unfortunately with the poor customer service on the part of the resort and Expedia I am hesitant to deal with either.

Food was sub par. Kids’ zone water park was awesome for 2/3 year old. Playhouse needs to be updated with better toys. Mini golf course was very basic. Pools and ocean views were amazing and the staff was very helpful and nice

The over-all outlook on the property is great. I applaud the room service staff for their effort into the care for their guests. Food options were spread evenly with options. My only downside is that the staffin certain areas should bebmore warm and compassionate towards the disabled community. Furthermore, guests of all status level should be treated equally. No one or family should not have experience differences in treatment because of membership. I personally felt that upon the rejection of becoming a member, it shifted the way my disabled child andbI were treated,( particularly at the spa) it was humiliating andbfor that simple reason I won't be visiting that resort in the future. Keep in mind that it is a lovely resort but more focus on the acknowledgement of the disabled community sgould be practiced.
