overall great hotel, some minor issues in room, but clean and I would stay again. Great staff.

Stayed twice!
We stayed at this hotel as a midway point on our New England road trip. We liked it enough to stay again on our way home! Hotel and rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was adequate and check in and check out was easy.

Hotel seems to have gone through a recent "lipstick on a pig" kind of renovation. There were periods especially in the evenings when the elevator and the hallway had a horrible musty smell.
Customer service was non-existent. The front desk staff had a very defensive kind of attitude and posture. As soon as we approached them (even when just checking in) they had a rude attitude and facial expression (forget about the smiley welcoming attitude you'd expect in the hospitality business).
There were two ladies at the front desk. The younger one was a new trainee who had the basics of human interpersonal communications skills like a little smile, but the older one who was supposed to be her manager (the trainer) was so rude and standoff"ish" from the get-go.
The only saving grace was the breakfast spread which wasn't extravagant but better than just toast and muffins.

A Great Night's Sleep
This was a stop on our way home from Maine. Very clean and comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Beds and pillows were great, and the room was clean. Close to some nice restaurants.

Great hotel however the 1st night when I got in from the hotel I asked for a towel because we only got 3 for a 4 person reservation. The front desk clerk was rude especially when I said if I dont get a wash rag.

Great hotel for pets
Beautiful hotel with a friendly front desk and amazing breakfast. However, the room smelled like cat litter, no towels, and the shower head was tilted so the water was coming out all over the floor (handicapped shower). Also there was several fans blowing across the hall all night in a utility closet. Lastly I would recommend that rooms be blocked off that did not have pets in them. This day several guests had dogs.

Tiny Parking Lot Big Problems
When I arrived I was asked to provide my license plate number, the next morning I went to leave and found half the parking lot was blocked in by a truck with a horse trailer. When I went inside to ask the desk clerk to ask the person to move their truck I was told that's not something they do. I had to scramble and almost damage my rental car as well as several cars around me to try to move around this truck and get out so I could get to a very important appt while the desk person just looked around telling me I was going to hit something instead of trying to help. I understand the parking lot is small but there were places this horse trailer could have been parked that would have been out of the way if the staff had taken a second to think about how this would affect the rest of the people staying at the property.
